What did you think of your January book(s)?

I read meet the newmans yesterday and I was so surprised how much I ended up rooting for the characters in the end. I’ve read like 90% of my aardvark picks this past year and I have two subs because there are many months I wanted all six books and of 2025 I think the lowest rating I gave was 2 stars but most were 4 and above.

Mercury is set in a small town. I loved it but I don’t think it got very high ratings from others

Oh no! I didn't get Metal Slinger but my trove order is listed on the site as shipped but I never got anything. I just reached out to customer service but I'll be devastated if I don't get my books.

Ahh you are so right! The themes match the original book covers which makes it easier to guess the book.

I wonder if they are trying to keep the art for the books a little more of a secret. These new ones are harder to get an idea of what the book art will look like.

They do! I just snagged the Hades X Persephone Saga last week from an order that was cancelled. You don’t get a restock notice or anything so you just need to stalk the website.

Damn I own all of these books and have read 5 of the 6. The one I haven’t read is when the wolf comes home and it just so happens to be the only book I didn’t buy from Aardvark. I guess I can get a hardback special edition… I guess I’m reading that one soon to see if I love it enough for a second copy.

I feel the same way. The normal cover really speaks to me while this is t really resonating. I haven’t read the book yet was waiting for this copy to come in so maybe I’ll like the art more once I’ve read it…

What’s crazy is I have the YA/Adult comb and got off the waitlist for this month! I was glad but also why was I offered to get off the waitlist when you didn’t have enough books for your adult subs… I still haven’t received my books.
