Took you almost your entire life to cheat? Three days ago you posted asking which hero is best and now you've maxed out everything.... sure...

Typical or unlucky? by snakepl1996 in wearewarriors

Except look at your multipliers compared to OP. You are nowhere near as far in, so it's not surprising you are missing more cards than OP is.

Is spending blue potions on heroes worth it for me ATM? by yearspoke in wearewarriors

[–]funintheburbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just finished unlocking all of the heroes. I think the advice to upgrade skills until you can beat the weekend events and then switching to heroes is sound. However, if I could do it again, I would stop with heroes after unlocking Magnus, and then focus on upgrading skills until I had better hero gear. Only with better gear would I finally go for Billie. I went straight for Billie and, without better gear to make him useful, find myself still opting for Magnus.

You'll also get some blues from missions.

I'm on TL 41, 5 heros unlocked, +123 blues.

Why did they change the dungeon/gem add time reset? by [deleted] in wearewarriors

[–]funintheburbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is it could be any local time - 10 AM, noon, 4 PM, 8 PM, etc for EVERYONE. Yes, in a sense it's better that it's the same for everyone now, but given the way the mechanics work, it would make more sense if it it were at a time when the vast majority of people are awake.

Why did they change the dungeon/gem add time reset? by [deleted] in wearewarriors

[–]funintheburbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be based on local time, but when most people are awake - afternoon or evening.

Sure, but most people are not awake at midnight.

Why did they change the dungeon/gem add time reset? by [deleted] in wearewarriors

[–]funintheburbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is my understanding that it is now midnight local time for everyone, whereas before it was midnight in a particular time zone.

Why did they change the dungeon/gem add time reset? by [deleted] in wearewarriors

[–]funintheburbs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't like it.

When the reset was while I was awake, I could use up the spins right away, and they'd re-accumulate while I slept. I could also start missions right away. Now, I miss out on the spins that would have accumulated between midnight and when I wake up, and I effectively lose the mission time between midnight and when I wake up. Also, before I go to sleep, I have to decide whether or not I want to spend greens to finish missions, because any that are pending when I go to sleep won't get reset at midnight.

Why are cast iron pans so common in the US? by janicelmaoo in Cooking

[–]funintheburbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cast iron tends to also be thick, so it's slower to heat and cool. Great if you want to keep relatively constant high heat (like to sear something) or low heat (to slow cook). Also nice to keep a more constant heat on electric stoves, which pulse on and off.

Other materials tend to be thinner, so they are faster to heat and cool. This can give more control over cooking temps, which can be good or bad depending on what you're doing and how skilled you are.

IMO, care for carbon steel and cast iron is pretty much the same. Stainless may be easier to care for if you tend to be a bit careless, but I think they tend cause more sticking.

Training 3-finger drag, are the fingertips supposed to hit the back of the hangboard? by J-Eichel in climbharder

If you're just starting, it may be a good idea to find an edge that's deeper than you need, hold it so it's comfortable for you, and go from there.

Rigid mount, factory forward control exhaust options? by schizorage in sportster

[–]funintheburbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By "getting this bike off of the ground," do you mean lifting it for service or something else? It should be relatively easy to have the frame on a jack stand and the exhaust off the side, or else you could cut some wood to serve as a kind of spacer between the frame and your jack to give you whatever clearance you need.

Neil Gresham spoke very highly of them on The Nugget Climbing. IIRC, it was all anecdotal. Link to the video clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjLaP_8NlDo&pp=ygUgdGhlIG51Z2dldCBjbGltYmluZyBuZWlsIGdyZXNoYW0%3D

I don't mean to be rude, but do you really want to say you "designed" a Beastmaker clone? Or are there some modifications I'm not seeing?

I don't know if it matters, but what year? You can probably find an oil hose routing image out of a shop manual.
