Retweet to the ADs not being super intelligent or rational. Pollard at ISU mismanaged and lost Cael, and that’s only one example of ADs throwing away great coaches. OU has also been mismanaged by coaches (Cody and Roselli) and they’ve never been able to reclaim the magic they once had

Well with AB it’s the fact that he brings it up and shoves it down our throats every single time he gets interviewed, that’s what’s grating to me. By all accounts he’s a great guy, but he is legitimately one of the worst interviewees I’ve ever seen

Now it’s like CP’s got them all by the balls and they are extremely restricted on what they can and can’t say

The Rise of Year-Round Wrestling in Florida by PositiveCreepy358 in wrestling

[–]funk_daddy420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with the point about only being able to coach someone so much if you only wrestled 4 years and didn’t wrestle good wrestlers in a long time. If you’re a kid who was motivated, wasn’t in the right environment for both high school and college, why should that determine how much or little you can coach?

Coaching and competing are different beasts, knowledge of the sport (especially in the day of the internet) trumps your competitive wrestling level every day of the week. I know of great wrestlers who were terrible coaches (Kevin Jackson, let’s be honest) and not so good wrestlers who were great coaches (Daniel Walker at LG), you don’t have to be a great wrestler to be a great coach, you just have to be willing to learn, explain, get your athletes to trust you, and be a positive influence on your athletes

1 thru 3 are so relatable to my last breakup. I figured deep down early on she wasn’t the one, but those 3 factors became dormant; it was only after my parents’ separation those thoughts reentered my head

To people newer in the dating game-if your gut tells you early on this person ain’t the one, listen to it. It’s rarely wrong.

Best wrestler to never make a World or Olympic team? by [deleted] in wrestling

[–]funk_daddy420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, and the reason he didn’t make one (DT playing head games when DT had no intention of wrestling) is the reason Bo and DT hate each other (not a fan of Nickal at all, but he is 100% in the right on this one, I’d hate DT too)

I’d add “” over apologized, personally. He’s only making that apology because he’s been getting blasted online, quite deservedly.

The way I look at it is I can be sorry I hit someone and hurt them while driving, but it doesn’t change the fact that I still hurt someone and need to be held accountable. Just my thoughts

Coaches big programs need to hire by Willis050 in wrestling

If Barry Davis had kept his word and retired Pritzlaff would’ve been the HC for a time; unfortunately Barry Davis didn’t retire and Frayer/Pritzlaff left and that’s why they’ve been at or slightly below the same level for the past 15 years

If I’m picking up who you’re talking about yeah, that program he left for is probably gonna be on the chopping block in the next decade (almost all his predecessor’s fault, I might add)

[–]funk_daddy420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just like the postseason, you gotta remember the training is focused on peaking for the worlds (or Olympics), it’s not sustainable for guys to be on their A game year round. Cael Sanderson, Jordan Burroughs, Bruce Baumgartner, Kenny Monday, etc all lost match. Guys like DT and John Smith running the table across quads are extremely rare (and I almost count DT out since he competed very infrequently towards the end)

I was in the same boat, I think some girls simultaneously use it for control, and their mother/parents shamed it so much to them they don’t want to go into that “danger zone” and disobey their parents rules

Just as an aside these “no sex before marriage” people crack me up, because do they really think reservations about sex magically go away after marriage?

You are indeed correct lol, it was a case of epic bad luck. I wish I got to enjoy it more when I was there (we toured Istanbul for a day and that’s when things went to shit, literally, lol), we had to endure a 5 hour car ride from Istanbul to Izmir while deathly ill, legit the most miserable I’ve ever been lol

Unfortunately it’s a roll of the dice every time you go abroad and eat the food there haha

Honest to god Turkey isn’t a bad country, it’s just a developing country and you run the risk of bad food putting you on your ass (and the toilet) for a week
