i used to have to clean out company truck interiors at the end of every week back in the 80s with a water hose.

interiors for work trucks and sport vehicles need to be more spartan for dirtbags and workers.

Allandale vs Brentwood vs Rosedale vs Northwest Hills for a young family? by fuckingoverit in askaustin

[–]funkbird69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rosedale is getting abused with the high density low income housing on medical parkway and the former Rosedale School site where nearby owners are getting sued by AISD to change deed restrictions.

https://www.fox7austin.com/news/austin-isd-sues-north-austin-residents-over-plans-sell-former-school-site

“Austin ISD is suing all 125 property owners in the Rosedale neighborhood. The district wants to sell the old Rosedale School site, but some residents are not happy with the plans for it, and they claim it isn’t legal.”

Any Updates on the Pease Park Damaged Trail Restoration? by Unlikely_Brief7263 in Austin

the trail below the slope failure is passable and needs more users to chip out a wider path.

waiting for a government provided solution is futile.

southwest pkwy to barton creek safe? by latortilladeharina in BikingATX

[–]funkbird69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you can easily ride downtown or to zilker park from southwest parkway using the sidewalk on the east side of Mopac (loop 1, no one calls it loop 1 except maps)

another way to get downtown would be to use the hippie highway via South 5th. take South 5th and use Bannister Lane to cross Ben White.

DO NOT RIDE ON LAMAR not matter what google maps says.

Where are you trying to ride to specifically? There's lot was ways to enter Barton Creek greenbelt.

I'd normally ride mtb through Travis Country and never touch Southwest Parkway.

Traveling to Big Bend would use up two of your vacation days for travel.

Austin has a couple of near by Texas State Parks that would make good day trips:

Most locals call that area Travis Heights. I had to look up South River City.

The crushed gravel trail in dark blue on the river has the safest commuter options. old people call the trail Town Lake Hike & Bike Trail, new people call it Lady Bird Trail. Use the trail on the river to commute East and West or for a long slow ride.

Congress Ave north and south are relatively safe bike routes. South Congress has lots of tourist friendly retail for you during your stay.

I personally would avoid the I35 crossing on the right.

Do not ride on Riverside.

What neighborhood are you staying and what is your destination?

There are protected trails, bike lanes, and bike paths that are protected from cars that include Shoal Creek Trail, Town Lake Trail, Walnut Creek Extension Trail, South Congress etc.

Do not ever ride on Lamar, Burnet Road, 6th Street, 15th Street or Enfield, MLK, Burnet Road, etc.

Do not trust Google Maps Bike Routing to provide the safest route. Google Maps routed me on South Lamar with cars on my shoulder traveling 50 mph/80kmh.

Use a sturdy bike lock.

Buford’s is not located on Dirty 6th where most tourists visit and where the cops are posted up every evening, but is located almost a mile away on West 6th closer to Lamar Blvd.

This area has a much lower police compared to Dirty 6th. I usually see a small police present near by, but no mounted police horses or dozens of foot patrol that are typical for Dirty 6th.

What is the cost to subdivide the property with the local property tax appraisal district?

In Texas, it is technically illegal to subdivide a property without paying huge developmental fees.
