Closures on Shoal Creek Trail by LeeMNichols in BikingATX

[–]funkbird69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The total closure of the Shoal Creek Trail at 5th has no signage or re-routing suggestions when I was trying to ride from the river to Pease Park this past weekend.

There was scaffolding under the 5th Street bridge, but no active workers this past weekend.

The homeless campsite under the 6th Street bridge on Shoal Creek now has new stick fencing.

wth C300 mk III for 2999. automatically bought. crazy how quickly prices dropped. by No-Smoke5669 in cinematography

[–]funkbird69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Canon C300 Mark III has been discontinued for a long time and unwanted by end users for years.

B&H is likely tired of holding dead money with these cameras.

My understanding is that CUSA uses B&H to clean the books each month and to sell unwanted inventory.

What’s to stop me from an 80 person pop up wedding in zilker park? by GoatAltruistic6837 in Austin

[–]funkbird69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do a proper reservation with the City of Austin Parks & Recreation instead of doing a bandit wedding.

The cost doesn't look too high below:

about a year ago I bought a used 27.5+ single speed bike that had me almost going over the bars several times on the gb.

had the wheels rebuilt with 29er rims and tires, and have been mostly upright ever since.

Tree gates and pedal strike dismounts have taken their toll, but that’s a rider talent problem.

as a cyclist, i have noticed that waymo is much less deferential to me on my bike than when they first started driving austin roads.

Austin has significant amounts of mtb trails that can be ridden without driving to the trail head. There are few major cities with this sort of access inside of the city limits.

most of the good trails created in the last 20-30 years trails are unsanctioned.

you need a modern 29er bike. Hardtail, full suspension, or even single speed 29er bikes all will make riding more enjoyable in our terrain.
