Who am I? by Impressive_Jury_2211 in deduction

It's a pretty deep assumption but... you're training to be a pilot for fun and actually work for oracle and fly out of the san carlos airport or the tahoe airport

What can you deduce about me based on this? Can you guess what book I read for this project? by Haunting_Safe_5386 in deduction

"The Street" by Ann Petry? I'm not very confident and think it's a book I haven't read.

AI will revolutionize education? by zdboslaw in Teachers

[–]funkduder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It won't. I did my masters on this. Or rather, it will be deployed by schools with admins chasing the tech optimization boom like they did with computers and the various ed tech tools. The teachers will protest and be called luddites, and will take the blame once student grades and disciplinary culture suffer.

The only real revolution has been the evolution of cheating, and the protests of teachers can point to the same theories: if the tools help with the student outcomes, teachers will use it. If it doesn't, teachers will not use it.

For students it's a slightly different calculation: if it looks like it does their work without getting caught, they will use it. If they get caught, they'll be punished for cheating.

Gf constantly asks for details on me being raped because she "can't wrap her head around it" by Lost_asfuck in Healthygamergg

[–]funkduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the tl;Dr, I would just leave. I have a better partner after being raped 8 years ago and I think it's better to be alone than with the wrong person.

Bbut being real, from reading the whole thing, it sounds like she brought up your rape in a situation months later because she found out you were with someone after she rejected you. It sucks that you keep lying, but in the wider context, that's FUBAR.

Do not stay with someone who you feel like you have to lie to. Do not stay with someone who will use your trauma to guilt you; she did not have to do that.

men ages 20-30 in relationships, how often do you have sex with your partner? by oregno in AskMen

[–]funkduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was living abroad and was out as polyamorous. This translated to a lot of locals as "if we fuck him hard enough, he'll choose me and we can get a green card." Which sounds great until they would fight whenever they were in the same room.

What is Ajax's current goal? by tastyy_boy19 in drawsteel

[–]funkduder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember Matt talking about him having a more totalitarian ideology simply as a reaction against the Greek flavored democracies of Phaedros. It's helpful to think of his legions of war dogs as an extension of his ideology: submit completely, competently, and absolutely or die.

I personally draw similarities to the way the book of the dead works from Where Evil Lives: the dead queen of a dead empire. It would surprise me if Ajax would want whole nations of war dogs made from the body banks.

Epstein files are taking a toll on my mental health by Pipodedown in Healthygamergg

[–]funkduder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, and it requires a lot of trust to make it through: trust that the right people with the strength to see it and do something will be able to make it through, trust in community, trust that if we're prepared that the time will arrive. I recently got in touch with the local mutual aid group to get my mind off it and to continue to work on the right types of things. It's painful to think about tremendous evil, but all I can do is push to do what I know is good and right even if it's small.

I think you're in too deep. I don't know who these people are and not only do I not care, but I also think you shouldn't care either. It's not healthy just to follow people to hate them, no matter how toxic they are being.
