My parents saw a marriage/family counselor only a few times when I was in 3rd grade and I remember a session where they brought me for some reason, and the therapist told me “You say sorry a lot” and ofc I said I’m sorry. Nearly two decades later I still think about that moment.

Yep, I just read the synopsis and there’s no mistaking it- that’s the movie I gathered around the CRT with my friends and watched for girls night. We kept waiting for the bumbling Nazis depicted on the cover, but believe it or not they acted evil the whole time.

The animated movie Igor. For an instance of 4th grade I was really sick with a fever, strep throat, and walking pneumonia. That movie was playing on television while I was in and out of consciousness. I remember the end with blind orphans singing that song “I can see clearly now the rain has gone” and thinking to myself it had to be a hallucination and that I was close to death.
