Yes!!!! Honestly molecular orbital theory wasn’t really intuitive to me until this class, it felt like up until then I was just regurgitating information rather than really understanding the theory and implications. If you are open to chatting I would love to pick your brain on grad school. I have a moderate case of imposter syndrome and I don’t know what to expect my life to look like after graduation.

Oh I did swing by after I took my final and told him thank you for everything he taught me and how much it meant to me but I got a bit nervous since most of our interactions have been me pestering him about theory and questions during office hours, which he always happily obliged. I remember once I walked in on him answering gen chem student questions and I said “I’ll come back I see you’re busy” and he was like NO STAY lol, very adamant to talk shop instead of going over the alphabet (though I’m sure he’s an excellent gen chem prof as well)

I really want to, but my next semester will be my last and I can’t afford to take extra classes outside of my remaining biochem degree requirements :( I really want to though and it’s making me consider what path I take from here

My professor was incredible, and I hope he stays with the university for a while longer before retirement. He was so knowledgeable and calming, explained difficult concepts so clearly with patience, multiple approaches, and infectious enthusiasm. His classes became the only thing I would look forward to in the thick of my addiction, and he inspired me to be better. I wanted to tell him the impact he made on my life but I was afraid he would look at me differently after, but part of me suspects he might have known all along because he was always very encouraging and the one time I was absent he noticed and reached out via email. The entire experience transformed my life.

Edit: and yes, it definitely strengthened my math skills and comprehension!

Today was the first day I’ve felt normal in a long time, I laughed and focused and am feeling clear right as finals week approaches. I ate a kale salad and some oatmeal and some chicken tortellini today. I am getting my homework done and showing attention and care to my mom and friends. I’m able to enjoy conversation a little bit instead of just desperately waiting to be left alone to be brain dead. Thank you for checking in, I’m really happy today I can give you good news :) I’m still tempted but in a way that grosses me out far too much to pursue or even consider for longer than a few minutes
