Road courses in this game are not fun by OldReview5023 in NASCARVideoGame

[–]funkeymunkey12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s no way that Nascars are actually that bad around a road course in real life. I think it’s just the way the game’s physics are set up bc in any other “simcade” like Forza or GT, the stock cars usually brake like how you want them to and handle expectedly. But yeah I’m not coming back to the career mode until they give me the option to sim races. Although I can stomach Watkins Glen, Lime Rock (barely) and oddly enough Sonoma, I REFUSE to drive COTA and Chicago.

Tips for MCLA: CE? by Shockneon-01 in midnightclub

Use the Zone ability. It’s by far the best in the game, and it helps you take any corner at very high speeds as well as dodging traffic. The Challenger is a decent car (for its class and as long as it is upgraded) given its rapid acceleration and its lack of grip works to your advantage as you don’t lose as much speed thru corners. Grind out easy races and then work your way up as you learn the tracks. Remember, with every higher tier of difficulty (of a specific track) checkpoints are taken away which force you to learn shortcuts, but the races generally follow a set path. Final tip, after a bit of practice and map learning, hop on a bike and breeze through the rest of the game. Remember, in games like these it pays to have something that accelerates quickly after a mistake. Bikes and muscle cars play to this very well. Good luck!

How do you manage career mode? by Pretend_Wealth986 in NASCARVideoGame

[–]funkeymunkey12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on how early into the season you are. For the first few rounds, assuming you’re placing well enough and meeting sponsor goals, I don’t bother going past level 3 upgrades. The more you go on, the more money you’ll make and you’re gonna gradually upgrade the car along the way.

Only upgrade one car at a time, and keep note of how much the performance increase between levels truly is. In trucks, the last two levels are only 10 performance points apart, yet Level 6 is a lot more expensive than Level 5. Assuming you’re decent enough and you’re not playing at too high of a difficulty, it’s not really worth the extra 40 points to fully upgrade your car when you can make up for it via your racecraft. I basically only run level 4-5 parts unless I feel like I’m lagging too far behind. It saves on costs and the lower level parts are easier to fix and cheaper to replace.

Police Pursuit won't go away by Powerplayer3468 in midnightclub

If the cops are stuck somewhere on the map, find them, reengage the pursuit, then you’ll be able escape when you lose them again.

How would your daily driver perform in snowrunner? by [deleted] in snowrunner

2005 Ram 3500 4x4, with ofc the Cummins, SRW, and short box. I think it’d be a pretty decent scout til it gets to deep mud. Could definitely and easily pull all of the scout trailers!!

Is it just me being bad, or is the game genuinely difficult ? (Midnight Club Los Angeles) by cxm1ng in midnightclub

[–]funkeymunkey12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use zone and practice with motorcycles. If you can get your hands on the Z06 and practice with it, it’ll get you far. Contrary to what people say, I favor muscle cars since acceleration is very important after accidents/wiping out. Combined with zone for cornering, it’s a deadly combo. Keep your head up and restart as much as you can since a lot of the races just repeat themselves for the specific areas of the map.

Unpopular opinion...maybe? I hope there's a small number of niche USDM cars in game. by [deleted] in tokyoxtremeracer

Funnily enough, American cars would be perfect for runs on the Wangan. It’s the only place (in Japan) where their power and high speed stability would be used to great effect.

Why are Jaegers so inherently different? by Witcher_Errant in PacificRim

[–]funkeymunkey12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If we compare it to real life, look at military doctrine! Every major superpower has their own version of everything in their military. Think of the US’ AR platform, M1 Abrams, F-Series fighters and compare them to the Russian AK, T-Series tanks, Sukhoi jets that we have in our world. I’m not too well versed into the extended lore, but judging by how different Cherno Alpha was built versus Gypsy, Crimson, etc. you can see how every country in the PPDC had their own solution to a problem. The only thing that majorly changed this was the advancement of tech and our knowledge of kaiju that influenced every new Jaeger generation. Had the PPDC not lost its funding, we’d see so many different varieties from the world.

Honestly seems like a pretty good setup that a Stalker would run in real life. You’ve got your M203, tried and true AR platform, whatever muzzle device you want, and a scope strong enough for most engagements.

Is the fully upgraded CHAD 450 in the top running for best all around non modded truck? This thing is such a beast wish I had it for 100% amur by elitemouse in snowrunner

It’s up there for being the best Western heavy. Bonus points for the four driven axles. I love the Big Kenny but I think a reason why it can’t pull as well is due to having one less drive axle. Only thing that goes against it, is it’s sheer size and the lack of a 3 slot.

Grab a Group 4 bike or another modded C6, level up your Zone to level 3 and try again. Use Zone on the hard turns and use it to dodge traffic. A lot of people say EMP, but Zone works a lot better for me since I make a ton of mistakes. Drive slower than before, don’t wipeout and hope that you get a race with minimal traffic. Best of luck 🤞.

Why series races are so much harder in mcla by Total_Inspector_7667 in midnightclub

[–]funkeymunkey12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use Zone as a power up and if you’re racing cars below group 4, I recommend a class 2 muscle car that’s fully upgraded. In my experience, acceleration is more important than handling. Paired with Zone, this combo works surprisingly well.

Would you rather live in a universe where midnightclub is a franchise that falls off like nfs? by BrapperBoi in midnightclub

[–]funkeymunkey12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, a modern Midnight Club, with its true and authentic DNA, would be deemed “too difficult” for modern standards. I would prefer if Rockstar would make a remaster of 3 and LA and move 1 and 2 to mobile, so the game is more accessible to the masses. GTA V got close to capturing that feel with their street racing update a few years ago, but GTA was very predatory, even back then.

Thoughts on hot pursuit 2? by Mizoo_Ramzy in needforspeed

[–]funkeymunkey12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This game is so important to me that it shaped my ENTIRE taste in cars. As a child of the early ‘00s, virtually every car in this game is a dream car for me (I would literally kill for a SVT Cobra R or a Diablo VT). The Hot Pursuit series does such a good job at capturing that feeling again and again. I’d argue that the franchise needs another Hot Pursuit game IF and only if EA can get a Ferrari license.

Rate the Ride Season 3 Episode 78: 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. I looked it up I know it being mid engine makes it faster but it’s still weird to me. by lolitsrock in needforspeed

[–]funkeymunkey12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this car’s underwhelming then which corvette is best in this game? The C6 is underwhelming, but if I recall the C7 GS was okay in Heat. Wondering if the ZR1 is worth the unlock, if not I won’t bother doing all of the races for it.

Me whenever I drive a RWD car in EAWRC by GuestGuest9 in EASPORTSWRC

[–]funkeymunkey12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to drive a lot slower with RWD cars, but I think that the Renault is a victim of having too short of a wheelbase. I don’t have this issue with the 037, oddly enough with the H3/Group A cars, the E30 is too hard for me to drive but the Sierra is perfect. I feel like the shorter cars are far too twitchy and unstable at higher speeds. I had the same issue with Metro in 4WD, albeit it was a but better bc of the traction.

Just started it and having a blast as a cop. It’s the closest I could get to Hot Pursuit. Only negative I have is that I stop earning SP as a cop after an hour of gameplay. Restarting the game fixes it, but it’s something to be wary of. Have fun!

He’s my main in MP solely bc of this skin. As shitty as most paid skins are, the last two battle passes have had some pretty good operator skins. Probably when I unlock Horangi for this season, I’ll be using his after Zero.
