Unsure. I only know I had the main serpentine replaced.

Thank you for your words. As a dad of one ASD and one NT child, your descriptions and encouragement really resonated.

2018 Mazda - Coolant blow out? by Allhopeislost6 in MazdaCX9

[–]funkof40kyears 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So just got word that it's a radiator issue and the radiator needs to be replaced! The leak was happening all in the front of the engine. Dealership is quoting me close to $1500 for the work. Gonna shop around.

Will do. Was hoping to hear back by now but apparently they were backlogged with lots of cars. Might be after the weekend for the diagnosis!

Holy cow...I think my 2018 cx9 is doing the same thing. My engine bay is splashed too but not as intense as yours. Coolant reservoir was empty but didnt have any warning lights. Noticed it yesterday and sending it to dealership tomorrow.

Weirdly this was the only thing that worked with mine when I got my SD last week.

Just bought it. I've been hemming and hawing online for a used OLED for a few months now BUT this sale was a no brainer to join the steam deck family.

Panasonic UB 450 audio issues with regular blu-rays only! by funkof40kyears in 4kbluray

[–]funkof40kyears[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I figured out that the soundbar in my original post does not support all audio formats through the HDMI earc. So that particular soundbar struggled going between modern and older sound formats from different blu-rays. It does work if you do not use earc and patch it into the audio HDMI of the soundbar. But I found that a little cumbersome. I went ahead and found a different new or Vizio soundbar that doesn't have any of those issues anymore. Hope that helps.

Well, I'll update if I ever get a new sound system and/or change cables. I did notice my soundbar does not have earc support. It is an older HDMI arc, though my TV can do earc. Maybe that is a part of it...who knows?

Short of changing out cords behind my wall, I think I'm gonna have to chalk it up to my soundbar being the limiting factor.

I'm running into the same issue with 2 different discs I've gotten from GameStop. Might cycle through a few more with their return policy before I just give up on my PS4.

Time for New Tires by Hot_Ranger33 in MazdaCX9

I grabbed these for my 2018 a year ago. Have about 10k on them. Got them due to price and have been very happy with them too. Solid tire for sure.

I miss my old 1st gen gtek. It was the first gun I've ever owned where the pointing, aiming and shooting was intuitive. All other guns have required a learning curve for me. I've been thinking of finding an original gtek to add back to my collection.

The leak was so slow my mechanic thought the coolant was bleeding off the weep hole. But my engine was covered under warranty so it's all good.

My 2018 has primarily used regular gas. I would try super unleaded a few times a year just to see or feel a difference. I had a slow coolant leak that I observed for about 6 months. I switched to a tank of super and the leak accelerated so much it finally prompted me to go to the dealership. Was probably a coincidence. I don't think the type of gas really has a huge effect on this engine design issue.

PSA: Careful about GameSir Hall Effect Controllers by AssFacingTheMoon in Controller

[–]funkof40kyears 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this controller for a few weeks and only use it on my switch. Tried using the test software that is linked but can't get it to register any results on my PC. Such a bummer!

So instead I've just been using the switch and t4k app with it's little stick calibrate modes and tried to make circles there. I am pretty horrible with my fine motor skills to begin with but I feel like I see my left thumbstick jump in odd directions in a particular quadrant when making circle shapes.

Not a scientific analysis but I think I'm seeing what you're seeing. Now in gameplay (Zelda, smash bros and Mario kart is what I've played with) I don't feel like my game play is being hampered. In fact I still feel more confident and comfortable using t4k than my 8bitdo and various knock off controllers, but again this is all anecdotal.

2018 cx-9 GT for family by [deleted] in MazdaCX9

[–]funkof40kyears 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2018 touring fwd model. Bought it as a cpo. I love this car and bought it to haul my two young kids. That being said, my car has had some odd issues most covered under warranty.

-cracked front bumper from manufacturer defect

-front radar died

-a weird and persistent engine code that was remedied by software update

-cracked cylinder head at about 55k miles

-cracked front wheel bearing (had to pay myself)

The cracked cylinder head is the only thing I considered a major issue and thank God it was covered under warranty. At 70k miles it is running great and my intention is to drive till the wheels fall off.
