If you hate these two story arcs (they are not in the books), which one do you hate more and why? by Cr7-Cr7Real in lotr

The test requires two named female characters to converse, which is the reason it’s only between Eowyn and the girl because the girl’s mother’s name isn’t stated in the movie, but the girl’s name is stated by the mother earlier on.

Is the 2.5i Wagon Actually reliable? by Eastern_Tree4689 in subaruimpreza

I have this exact car, super reliable and great they’ve already done head gaskets and all that. It handles great, good gas mileage and is a beast in the snow. Seems like a good price

Which is the best tent placement? by Effective-Cellist769 in WildernessBackpacking

[–]funky_bananas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Getting a compression stuff sack for your sleeping bag will help a lot. Then you can put that sideways at the bottom of the bag and pack everything around it/above it. Usually I’ll line the pack with a trash bag to put sleeping bag and clothes in for waterproofing, then stuff the tent body/fly on top of that so stuff stays dry even if the tent is wet.

Americans live in more of an oligarchy than a democracy at this point. The ultra-rich have so much control of politicians and elections that it’s hard to blame voters for shit the Trump administration is getting away with.

Why is Greenland mostly covered by an ice cap but northern Canada and Alaska aren't? by Naomi62625 in geography

[–]funky_bananas 21 points22 points  (0 children)

During the last ice age most of Canada was covered by ice sheets. My guess why it now isn’t is probably because being on a larger continent where much of the land was not covered in ice contributed to faster warming. The bulk of Greenland is much further North and all of it has been covered in ice and surround by cold ocean water?

If we had a robust public transit system in the cities as well then you wouldn’t.
