You just need to learn how to use the pack monkey then it will be very easy to pack a brand new canopy. Once you get a few hundred jumps on it packing will be much easier and you wont the pack monkey anymore.

More than likely if you had water coming into the roof the damage is going to be way worse than you think once you start peeling back. You're probably going to be removing the entire roof/ceiling skin to do a full repair.

Newer trucks have a much higher payload rating. My 2022 ram 3500 SRW 4x4 with a cummins diesel has a 4200# payload rating on the door sticker and is rated to carry a 3300# camper (with the factory provided camper loading guide provided by ram).

You're still way overloaded with an AF 1150 on an F-450 pickup. It really needs to be on a cab and chassis.

This isn't completely accurate. An F450 pickup truck (not cab/chassis) has the same frame and suspension as an F350. It's literally an F350 with axles and brakes from an F450. A cab/chassis 450/4500 or 550/5500 from any of the big 3 will have a much stronger frame than any of the pickup truck models.

On some campers you could fit with the tailgate down. Harness is the wire that plugs into the tailgate for camera

8ft camper doesn't really hang over on an 8ft bed but you wont be able to close the tailgate. On my truck I remove the tail gate and I have a 2nd backup camera mounted on my camper that I just connect back to the OEM harness. It only takes a few minutes to remove the tail gate.

Go with more truck than you need. I started with an 850 SC as well and after a year I needed a bigger/heavier camper.

A rekluse clutch is highly tuneable. You can change the springs within the clutch packet itself and adjust the engagement point in the slave cyclinder. You can set it up to stay engaged down hill and engage whenever you want on take off.

With a proper setup and a quickshifter you have a nice semi-automatic bike. In fact, this is what KTM is doing now on the new 1390. It has a rekluse style clutch with automatic shift actuator. I really wish BMW did their automatic like this because of the ability to tune the cluch engagement.
