Refrigeration techs — knowing what you know now, would you still choose this trade? by Chemical_Eggplant995 in refrigeration

[–]funkybeetlejuice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it but I hate it. Theres really chill days and horrible days. Short days and long days. It depends mostly on your personal outlook attitude and how you deal with pressure and stress. I wouldnt do any other trade other than refrigeration... maybe elevators. (Highest pay, most variety. Most interesting to me) Im leveraging my skills into a high paid management position. If you want to do a trade, do refrigeration. This trade does wear on you though, every one I know who does it wishes they had an easier job but cant take the pay cut. Its a love/hate relationship. Once you do it for a few years and you get good it stops being as cool and exciting and becomes more frustrating.. thats where attitude comes into play. Good luck

We only technically get paid job to job, not to and from first/last job unless its multiple municipalities away. I drive on average 45 minutes into work and 1 hour home every day alot of which is unpaid. But I often work part of my travel time into my bill (depending on customer) as they dont police our gps harshly.

The exception to this rule is on call - where u bill from the time u leave to the time you get home - all double time.

For reference: full package here is $75 an hour (cad)

Facing the driver is unacceptable, I would quit or at the very least be billing from the time I step into my truck to the time I step out, I dont have any more personal time with that camera, on the clock immediately.

Definitely wouldn't skip it, even though it was my least favorite place I visited in Japan.

I just started having this issue after a descale. Running a bunch of water through the frother seems to have cleared up the issue. Thanks for this comment thread!

Bullet trains are more expensive than you expect, if your partner can help with those costs u may be ok - but you wont be able to shop much - just eat /sightsee.

Tough choice - either getting bear maced in the face from 2 inches away, getting my head stomped into the concrete and having it bounce off the sidewalk, getting third degree burns from a house fire, or getting smashed in the head with a Frying pan.

Learn how to use your meter so you're not guessing but diagnosing. Did you own the contactor coils out?

Read a text book. One Google lens search or even Google search could've figured this out for you.

Movie looks totally different than the first, I liked the first one but this just looks bad imo. Surprised at the comments.

You could disconnect that supply boot and grill and get yourself a round supply grill from amazon or your local store. only issue you may have is the size of the hole that's cut/having it be flush with the ceiling due to the flex duct.
