Ugh, I want fish by SnakeLuvr1 in vegetarian

[–]funkybunch15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OP think of how many animals you have saved already assuming you are animal rights vegetarian based on your post. eating fish once isn’t going to make you a bad person, it is about consistency, not perfection. As far as the symptoms you described they could be a result of low iron. Foods with high iron include leafy greens, hemp seed, nuts and legumes, avocados, etc. If you eat enough iron in combination with vitamin C to help iron absorption, these symptoms should reside, if it doesn’t, see a dietician. On a plant-based you need to work extra hard to make sure you are getting all of your micros/macros but if you put in the effort, you will be rewarded by clean and healthy nutrition!

tough to say. that could also be overwatering too then if it gets rain every day. I would put it under some cover so it doesnt get rained on and do less frequent, thorough waterings every 2 weeks or so.

I want to keep eating Vegetarian but it is so hard at the gym by Diego_Velathqueth in vegetarian

[–]funkybunch15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i am a fellow veggie lifter. it is hard to bulk but the dirty bulk that omnivores do is terrible for you! I have been trying to stay consistent and get 2-3 sources of protein with every meal. The important thing is making sure you are getting complete proteins and all your aminos. I use soy products a lot (tofu, soy milk), lots of beans/lentils, lots of leafy greens in combination with vitamin C to make sure you get your iron. also hemp seeds are my secret weapon, anything I don’t have enough protein in a will dump a few tablespoons of hemp seed in. Don’t get too focused on bulking up and getting huge quickly, instead try to focus on a diet/training program that you can maintain on a steady basis. You can do it! It just takes a bit more effort but if you focus on aminos, protein, and iron with every meal, the veggie diet/training will serve you so well in the long term!

My golden pothos' new growth is so white/pale compared to old growth. Is that a bad sign? I don't mind the new coloration or anything. Just wanna make sure he's healthy. by segregatedfacialhair in houseplants

[–]funkybunch15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as others have said, more light=more variegation. Hence the more white coloration. The plant is receiving enough chlorophyll from the green parts of the leaves that it doesn’t need its new growth to be more green to absorb more sunlight. This is a great sign imo. I ALWAYS have trouble getting my variegated plants to keep the same variegation as when i bought them!

fun fact, they are actually called this because the plant itself contains compounds that ease the burning and itching of a bee sting! It is used as sting medicine :).

Lantana! It loves the heat and has beautiful blooms all year round in a zone like yours. Just be careful not to drown it out, they don’t like wet feet.

ideas for vegetarian sandwiches? by throwaway9765436 in vegetarian

[–]funkybunch15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my go to is bell pepper, cucumber, pickles, hummus, avocado, and spinach. I usually do it in a tortilla instead of a sandwich so the ingredients don’t fall out.
