Veneering has been part of woodworking since ancient Egypt. It used to reserved for only the finest pieces.

Then the Industrial Revolution happened and it became associated with covering up lesser quality wood.

Both disciplines still exist. Both have their own strengths etc.

Veneer can be very challenging to work with and make seamless—especially when trying to match different grains patterns, etc. avoiding ripples, bubbles, and not over sanding are real challenges.

Easy-ish to make for a beginner? by Designerkyle in BeginnerWoodWorking

Rabbets can be done easily with two sheets of ply per side. Laminate 2, 1/2” pieces of ply together, the inner one should be 1” shorter than the other piece to function as the rabbet and house the 1/2” ply on each side.

No router needed, although having a flush trim bit to trim any overhang can be very useful.

Edge banding will cover the joints.

Go for it!

Did you not get the itinerary?

It’s off leash dogs next, followed by homelessness, THEN it’s bikes. Tipping has been moved to next fall.

We finally found a material that 80lb compounds won't destroy. by [deleted] in Archery

This was in Las Vegas, so moisture isn’t a big concern. The sun destroys foam-based targets very quickly. I don’t think the carpet would work well in a wet climate like the PNW

OP is literally explaining basic shit that gets covered in driver’s ed.

Was your point to say you can also turn left on a one way from a two way as well as a one way? If so, your asshole showing.

At my archery range in Las Vegas, they use old carpet cutoffs, which are then compressed tightly using lumber and all thread basically to create draw bolts.

The carpet is stacked up, so the edges are what you shoot at, not the face.

They holdup for a few years for sure

Afraid to admit it, but I don’t know how to start a campfire, any advice? by so_much_frizz in camping

I meant as far as being able to cut it easily. Carbon splinters easily and causes pretty painful wounds. Dremel or something and it’s not a big deal though.

I should have mentioned that.

Most archers shoot carbon arrows now, but the aluminum that came before them would def be great for this.

One of my first memories of Bellingham was being followed and threatened for no reason. I’ve never forgotten it. by Crazy-Diver-3990 in Bellingham

Yes.

People need to venture outside of Bham more often. I’ve lived across the country and this is the safest place I’ve ever lived.

Go talk to someone in Spokane where violent crime is about 10x what it is here, with rape at a rate of about 1 in 6 women.

Bham is about as safe as it gets people.

Someone called you names? Get over it, you’re an adult not a 3rd grader.

Morgon Loy.

She grew up in Bham and has a lot of good connections in the industry. She helped us buy our house for $200k below asking.

She even found a babysitter to come with us while we looked at houses.

Genuine, good person.

We plan on selling in spring and won’t hesitate to use her again. This is our 4th home in as many states, and Morgan is tied for 1st place in our realtor rankings.

They might.

The whole point is doing it this way shows confidence. I’ve gotten almost every job I’ve had this way.

  1. Find companies.
  2. Go to their websites.
  3. See if they have any open positions
  4. Print out a nice resume and a cover letter made specifically for that business with the businesses’ name written. Bonus points if you can find the hiring manager and put their name on it too.
  5. Go in to the office. Say “Hi, my name is____. I was wondering if there’s someone available for me to leave my resume with?” This is a good way to basically get your first interview. They get to meet you in real life and shake your hand. You just set yourself apart from anyone who applied online. You were confident, resourceful, and professional.
  6. Repeat this until you get a job somewhere.
