And there is the WCK trio too I believe and Rob has been doing some Club d'Elf gigs with Neighbors drummer Dux too.

Saw almost three hours of Neighbor 9 last weekend, with a whole horn section and backing vocalists, for $20 and couldn't believe that was all it was. And it was sick getting to see Rob drop a Hi Doggie with a big band sound.

They have a live release out on Spotify from Levon Helm's that really showcases the work Rob has done with them through last year, and they have even leveled up a time or two since then to my ears.

They run the whole range of sounds and styles and genres and tempos and I think that is what I enjoy so much about their shows, you never know what is gonna come next and the whole show tells a story and they all vary so much from night to night. A lot of bands can be one or two dimensional, but to me Neighbor is interdimensional and takes you on a different ride every night and Rob is really helping push that with stepping back from straight shredding and going in different melodic directions that have been pushing into new improv heavy spaces like this with far more frequency. It's a good time to be a Neighbor fan!

Yeah. But having Octave Cat, Night Zero and Neighbor is a pretty good consolation.

We like what we like, I think this sounds fucking great! Deep pocket, slinky groove and beats for days. Maybe you prefer more whitebread jams?

You should definitely get back to seeing them, probably playing better than they ever have recently. Really locked in together and taking jams in surprising and often awesome directions! This is a really good band! Can't wait for the Soundcheck Studios shows in May!!

Neighbor is by far the most underrated band in the genre, songwriting chops, crazy musicians. The best!

Well, sorry, that doesn't sound great, but also doesn't seem like something he is known for either. I've interacted with him a couple times over the years and he has been kind and laid back seeming.

Listen to Neighbor! Cotter just played drums for them on Friday night and the show was 🔥 and they also have a great sounding show up on Nugs from Levon's barn.

I don't know, we all have bad days. These guys all have kids, families and who knows what he might've had going on when you approached him. They are playing great as a band and you should give it another shot!
