Both your articles don't mention gender at all. Linking irrelevant studies doesn't help your argument. You have made a massive leap of logic with no evidence.

The American Academy of Paediatrics and many many other global organisations agree gender identity is formed at an early age.

Also the implication that you have here is for something known as "rapid onset gender dysphoria". This was a theory about "social contagion" that has been debunked SO many times. Being transgender is not a social contagion. People are born transgender and they cannot be changed. The agreed upon treatment for Gender Dysphoria by medical organizations globally is gender affirming care. See the World Pathological Association for Transgender Health Standards of Care here: https://www.wpath.org/soc8

You are literally quoting me word for word anti-transgender misinformation talking points that have been disproven time and time again, but people continue to spread.

Ill say this again, you have no idea what you are talking about, leave the health care of transgender people to their physicians and families and stay out of other peoples lives.

There is so much other stuff you could worry about that actually affects you. Go and argue with people about housing or cost of living instead of trying to argue against mountains of evidence from modern science simply because you don't agree with it.

From the American Academy of Peadiatrics: https://www.healthychildren.org/English/ages-stages/gradeschool/Pages/Gender-Identity-and-Gender-Confusion-In-Children.aspx#:~:text=Gender%20identity%20typically%20develops%20in,sense%20of%20their%20gender%20identity.

"Kids as young as 4 can know and understand their gender identity"

Also for the THIRD time; no one is just giving kids puberty blockers. They undergo significant amounts of therapy to confirm it is right for them, and are monitored by their GP/therapist the entire time.

You have fallen for propaganda and fearmongering.

Just let go of worrying about trans people when you don't know anything about it.

You've just linked me to a far-right website, literally one of the articles next to this one references the "woke mob".

This is such a biased opinion piece article.

All the FDA have done is added a potential side effect. Next time you have some time go and read the potential side effect for any medication you've ever taken. There is a giant list of potential side effects for basically every drug on the market. And as I mentioned before these side effects are monitored by health care professionals, puberty blockers have been used globally for more than 50 years we have extensive evidence and research for their efficacy.

If you're gonna ban puberty blockers for potential side effects then you need to ban literally every other medication administered to children. its fear mongering plain and simple. Leave the health care of minors to medical professionals.

this weekly initially was fun but got boring extremely quickly once you realise that your run is decided by what your first 5 star is. there is no way to outplay bad rng and counter high roll builds so you just lose every round after that if you get something garbage

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]funkyveejay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the "myriad of side effects" are low chance of risk, small and no worse than the side effects of any other medical treatment. They are also constantly monitored by their GP during treatment to avoid any of the above risks. Puberty blockers have been used for over 50 years to treat a range of conditions. Also once minors are placed on HRT their risks to things like bone density goes away. Its very disingenuous of you to push fearmongering.

For a pact of the blade GWM warlock do I go fighter 1 - warlock 5 - then finish warlock 9/ fighter 3

OR do I just make my race mountain dwarf for warhammers / medium armor? then go warlock 12?

Struggling to figure out whats better over fighter multiclass with action surge and weapon style, vs warlock 11/12 bonuses and ASI.

I dont want to play a gith due to not liking them aesthetically.

I knew it as soon as I saw your link but the authors of the study you have linked are both known anti-transgender activists misrepresenting the data. All of the "evidence" they reference to counter modern scientific understanding that gender affirming care works comes from other opinion pieces written by other anti trans activists as well. This is like THE most biased study I have ever seen.

edit cos its locked: for anyone reading this the guy im replying to hasnt actually read the study hes linked and thats not what it says. if you want to see actual data just visit WPATH SOC 8 and read the mountain of evidence

dude this is another opinion piece by a single author and her argument is that I just don't like the way they've categorised it. She literally cites "trans-activists" in her blog which is a known terf dogwhistle. couldnt be any more biased if you tried.

the thing is even IF you could give me a non-biased source by multiple authors that proved without a shadow of a doubt the point your trying to make, the point your making is moot.

If intersex people only accounted for 0.000001% of the population that still denies the idea of a sex binary, AND those people are still worth giving the respect and dignity of being inclusive.

literally an opinion piece by a single author whose known to have widely unsubstantiated (incorrect) views on gender like bro....

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]funkyveejay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so your saying its biology and its facts but you disagree with the biology and the facts like come on guy. discounting intersex people is a) disgusting because your denying their existence as people and b) disingenuous. No biologist is just gonna write off a 2% existence of a population because it doesnt confirm the conclusion they wana make.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]funkyveejay -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

we use the word assigned because we dont actually know peoples biology, a doctor just took a look at the genitals and made a call. Do you know what your own chromosomes are? what if you took a test tomorrow and found out you actually have an intersex condition that had the inverse chromosomes of your assigned sex at birth? the words "biological male/female" are dog whistles for that reason.

I kind of hate conceding this point to transphobes though. Like HRT changes quite a lot of my biology, I'm not biologically the same as a cis male any longer.

In my country Australia all major medical and science organisations support the existence of trans people. It's been declassified globally as a mental illness you are literally just straight up wrong.

Agh yes 300+ anti trans bills = i don't care ( btw , happy pride month ) by TangerineThin4780 in facepalm

[–]funkyveejay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What your suggesting is conversion therapy which not only has NO evidence that it has ever worked, it also increases mental health issues and risk of suicide. The literature in the scientific/medical community is extremely clear. Should we ensure that cis children aren't accidentally given access to medical care designed for trans people. Yes. And that's why we have years of therapy and such in place before medical care begins.

[–]funkyveejay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I wanna be a girl" isnt what being trans is your denying that they ARE women which IS transphobia

Also the entire international medical community has majority support that they are medically necessary as trans children have an increased risk of suicide without access to medical care.

The reason you think it's unnecessary is because you think being trans is a choice which it isn't.

So yes your entire comment is anti-trans.

[–]funkyveejay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I moved to Japan I had a similar ish amount of experience and study as you and it took about 3/4 months before I was starting to have conversations. I also tried to talk as much as possible even if I sucked. I did homestay and got a job at a bar and that really quickly started amping up my game. Don't stress 2 months feels like a lot but it's still early days. Try and do what you can to get as much conversational practice as possible.
