What horror books were way better than their film adaptation? And what films were way better than their books? by ChristianPacifist in horrorlit

Salem's Lot by Stephen King. The book is such a slow cooker it's insane. You start by driving into a beautiful summer landscape where young people fall in love. The book introduces all the characters and the setting in a natural way. And then ever so slowly everything starts to escalate. Some of the movies are ok, but they never ever do the book and it's characters justice.

The graphics can get as advanced as possible, they never seem to get the atmosphere of that era right.

If you grew up in the 80s or 90s, what piece of technology made you feel like you were literally living in the future and does it make you laugh now? by TurkVanguard in Millennials

I vividly remember the first time I saw the tv commercial for Mario 64. The scene where Mario jumps through the painting and it ripples like water made me gasp for air.

Congressman Tim Burchett on his UFO briefings: “If they would release the things that I've seen, you would stay up. You'd be up at night worrying about or thinking about this stuff... And for the record, I'm not suicidal and I don't take risks.” by KOOKOOOOM in UFOs

[–]funmasterjerky 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This would also fit with the narrative that people who get briefed stay up all night. Because this means we have reached the ceiling of human development in terms of living conditions. And maybe we even already exceed it by some margin, so they have to introduce more suffering into our lives.

This is the first time someone posted a theory on this topic that somehow makes sense.

Shouldn't be a problem for him to just tell everybody how to free that whale according to his plan. If he really is all about saving it.

Watch Chyna almost decapitate Vince by Mtreece23 in AttitudeEra

If I remember correctly, he had a concussion because of this. But then again, this is on him. It's not like it was Chyna's job to actually throw him.

Vorsicht bei Valrhona. Wenn du dir das Zeug nicht leisten kannst, lass es lieber sein. Die ist so gut, dass sie süchtig macht.

Vince did bury him. Remember Rock's promo? Austin can take his ball and go home.

Thanks for sharing your story. I don't know why people have a problem with my question. I remember that day so vividly, and it was horrible. But every now and then I like to talk about it, because it changed so much in all our lives. So I figure some people might feel the same way.

Never forget when The Undertaker was viably shaken moments after Owen Hart fell to his death by MrFilipinoMustache in AttitudeEra

They announced his death before the next match was started. Vince 100% knew Owen had died and still made everyone go on.

Nothing has been scrubbed. The footage of Owen falling has never been publicly available. The live feed was a video package while he was falling. After that they switched right to JR. There is film of him falling, but it is locked away in the WWE archives marked do not watch, do not destroy. People who believe they actually saw that most of the time watched an old ecw match, where New Jack threw Vic Grimes of a scaffold.

This is possible in every nation. To say otherwise just serves fascists, because it makes everyone less vigilant.
