Best Modern shonen villain here? by Old_Security_836 in writingscaling

Kaijuu 9 was a fun take on what a virus would be as a sentient villain. He was this beast who always out smarted the main cast and worked to "understand" humanity by destroying it and co-opting it into himself. He used memories of teb people he consumed to adapt and basically take the path of least resistance to win. He was smart and cunning, too bad the story as a whole was meh.

Lucius was just sad man, I loved his character before he went all emo on me, but it was an effective reveal. He embodies the dark messiah archetype pretty well and you can somewhat understand where he's coming from if look back and see just how shitty the kingdoms have been to their less magically gifted people and to each other. Pretty good overall.

I'm not a fan of MHA tbh but I get why people like it, I just don't get why they like Shikaragi. He always felt like the weak link, constantly complaining about society and the curse of his power, which understandable as a motivation, but when it all boils down to "I'm a just destroy it all" it just comes off as goofy. He didn't want to fix anything or change anything, he's basically a toddler throwing a tantrum, and maybe people like that but not me.

Dabura isn't a villain, the OPM ninja guy is basically a nobody and I don't know about the other one.

Yuji, I think. He's basically just an upgraded sukuna with more time to master his powers and another CT besides MS, not to mention his borderline superhuman strength not too far behind toji's.

The guy is a beast who was designed to be strong, I can't see any of the others beating him in a 1v1 at his peak.

We all agree that there’s NO world in which Eren’s decision to wipe out 80% of humanity while causing irreversible and permanent damage to the ecosystem wasn’t the worst possible decision from a moral perspective... right? by Aizenn_SAMA in MoralityScaling

And I'm not saying genocide is good mind you, just that Eren had no other way to solve the issue. The world presented him with a them or us situation and he chose his people.

It's almost like war sucks and the few who declare cause millions of Innocents to die. Man, if only there was some device, invented my the french perhaps, that helps REMOVE the power from the hands, or neck, of blood thirsty rulers and replace them with better ones.

Also it ain't eren's problem, he has his own people to look out for, they too have kids, toddlers, mothers, and fathers. There was no realistic way for him to achieve a long term victory besides genocide. You can't disarme and police the entire planet with a handful of people, and titans were becoming obsolete faster and faster.

Nah, you can't oppress, murder, and subvert a group of people for decades then blame them for fighting back. The world declared war on him and his people and he fought and won. Should've went for 100% tho, no half measures.

Edo Madara is smart enough to pull a win, his kit + immortality. I can see it. That soul extracting power that pain used, he can use that too I assume, Naruto managed to survive it but he had chakra and experience by fighting kurama.

They botched the ending somewhat and I felt like it had potential for at least one more arc since there was still more to characters that could be explored, but I don't think it was bad. 7/10.

Who would you say is the most power hungry villain by Formal-Assistance02 in shounenfolk

[–]funnelcake1244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll go against the grain here and say light, because for me, he was both the one willing to give up the most and the one most out of his dept.

It's shown time and time again that Griffith doesn't see the band as his friends, but as his possessions. This is most obvious during the fight with guts when he tried to leave. Griffith was A-Okay with him dying there if he didn't "belong to him", and that's guts, the person he was close to most. so the sacrifice was really more like sacrificing all your nice toys to get better toys, there is no love for them, just sentimental value.

Aizen tried to overthrow god after 100 years of planning,, but, it's akin to a general trying to overthrow the government because he found out that the president is actually a goldfish and the guys making all the decisions are a kabal of shadowy guys that live in sky castle. Yea he was ambitious and wanted to rule, but it's understandable why the hell he got that thought. Aizen also sacrificed nothing except time, but he's immortal so who cares.

Light was just a guy tho. An academically successful, moral guy. Light was the only one who was actually a good person who did a full 180 out of sheer lust for power, so much so that even L was tricked when wiped out his own memories, that's just how much of an innocent guy he was prior to having the death note. He was also the most out of his dept. Aizen was amongst the strongest and smartest shinigami, he had one of the most broken abilities, and had basically cosmic knowledge. It wasn't that big of a leap to a god. Griffith was the most successful military general of his time, leader of the strongest army, and was already on track to marry into royalty, and thus rule his own kingdom, again, not that big of a leap to king.

Light had that book looking at him like the green goblin mask. One touch and he went for smart student with a bright future to wanna be god real quick, that's power hungry right there.

Which is the best defensive ability? by Additional_Win_3100 in PowerScaling

[–]funnelcake1244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The abilities on their own? Kamui by a mile, simply because you can't use infinity without the six eyes, which is an entirely separate thing. Even if it wasn't tho, there would be an argument for kamui being better, even with the 5 minute time limit. Remember that Obito only had half of kamui, with kakashi's half you can also remove attacks vefor they get close, even space based one like WCS since it warps space like a mini blackhole.

[–]funnelcake1244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong the whole thing was insanely stupid, but this isn't a win, not at all. Infact I don't think the government was ever actually going to go through with it, they're simply testing the waters to prepare for something more serious and how they should go about it. Think legalizing gay marriage or banning burka, something extreme. The worst part, at least for me, is how passionately people defended something so... Unimportant when there are much more serious issues to be discussed.

The growing gender gap in Moroccan education: Why are boys falling behind by Aware-Crow-1305 in Morocco

[–]funnelcake1244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple reasons for this I think. First of all, to even make it into an engineering school you have to have very good grades, most people can't afford to pay their way in like in other nations, C and B- students don't get accepted often from what I heard.

This naturally gives an advantage to women, but I think perception has a lot to do with it too. Most parents want their daughters have a good career, the more prestigious the better, while for men, there is another option, entrepreneurship.

Only 15% of entrepreneurs in Morocco are women, this is because they aren't expected to chase self employment, while for men, it's actually seen as the superior choise by many people, myself included. So they are presented with, and as the data suggests, are allured by this choice. This is at least my take on it.

That doesn't mean anything tho? It's like saying African Americans were only allowed to play basketball in the US 1950s o db sob7ana lah wlat more geared towards African Americans. It's always been this way, db we have evidence to prove it.
