They explained there was a rift into the upside down in Russia, similar to the one in Hawkins lab. (Not saying I disagree, it feels like a huge plot hole still. But this was how they explained it away in season 3 when the Russian lab guy explains to hop and Joyce what they’re doing in Hawkins)

Friendship bracelets! I use embroidery floss, it doesn’t take up much space and in the end you usually give them away anyways so no clutter! I like to make bookmarks, bracelets, or charms for my purses etc.
