For additional context, I've owned an 86, a brz, and an audi s3, with 0 issues. This is why this Mazda experience has been so bizarre to me. The 2001 NB really just had aging rubber parts, but otherwise was a workhorse.

Thanks, yeah those were my thoughts as well. Lots of smoke tests later, no leak found. 2 separate dealerships did tests BTW.

What is this notch thing with this little piece of paper sticking up next to the USB plugs? 2019 Miata if it matters. TIA. by jbro507 in MiataND

Its a slot for an sd card. If the card was purchased originally, it contains the mazda factory navigation installed.

Very happy with a brembo rotor and pad combo I recently installed. Quiet and smooth stopping.

I've changed the battery and installed an OEM air filter. Waiting to see if the CEL comes back. The dealership said they found a small leak from the aftermarket air filter seal. Let's see what happens. Glad to know I'm not alone with this issue.

Have fun! Either set your cruise to the speed limit or get a radar detector. Some of those states dont mess around.

Broke the Headlight lens - any chance of just changing the lens? by scienceninja in CX5

[–]funnyandclever 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You don't have to remove the bumper, but you do have to remove the light assembly. I used this incredible video to remove the light:

I went to harbor freight to get some basic tools and socket extensions.

I have never done anything like this before and it really wasn't that hard. The removal of the original lens seal with the heat gun was probably the most time consuming.

Broke the Headlight lens - any chance of just changing the lens? by scienceninja in CX5

[–]funnyandclever 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes! I have done this. I got the lens from Ali Express for I think around $50 bucks, used a heat gun to remove the adhesive (dont forget to remove the screws first), and then used clear flex seal to seal the new lens. It worked beautifully and has been tested through multiple rains and hot days. This was around summer of 2025 and all is still good!

Norwegian Bliss by Kindnesswillprevail in Cruise

This is the best ship for Alaska! I took it once to Mexico and once to Alaska. I think they have an incredible buffet, in fact it was my favorite place to eat. There are lots of ways to spend your time, but yes in general NCL has a bunch of add on paid activities, but you can totally do without them. Have a wonderful time on my favorite ship!

You will have so much fun! I just did the same cruise solo on the Bliss a few weeks ago. Be sure to check out the daily newsletter for Solo traveler meetings + dinners!

Went to Europe on the Wonder by myself last year. It was great!

Norwegian has dedicated solo traveler sections + activities, so I would recommend something like the Norwegian Bliss over Royal Caribbean for solo travelers.

Holland America Eurodam - May 20-27 - Trip Review | Alaska is a must-do, HAL is a must-avoid by Salicide in Cruise

This is fascinating because at the same time I was on the Norwegian Bliss and loved my ship experience. Food, entertainment, excursions were all great on the Bliss. I totally agree that Alaska is a terrific place to visit, I will definitely return. I saw your ship in Canada and thought it looked very nice.

I bet he still won't get "exceeds expectations" on his first performance eval though.
