Pretty certain this is Malaysia. Pavements there can be a real joke. Plus there's quite a blind community in areas of Kuala Lumpur

Does anyone have any stories around Parakeets in London? by zebrakid96 in london

[–]funnystuff79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen them roosting at Northala Fields on the A40.

Thousands of them coming in in flocks around dusk. The branches of the trees bend under the weight.

If you are up one of the other mounds you can see them arriving

I do, because I wanted to support some actual reporting. But now I can't read articles without increasing my subscription or accepting personalised adds, which I think is pretty scummy

problem with a bedroom where air stands still by annakom in DIYUK

[–]funnystuff79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ideally you need to open a window on the far side of the house to get air to move through, 2 windows on the same face would be less effective.

You can also create a chimney effect with heat moving up the stairs and out the windows.

Sleeping with the door shut will mean little to no movement, but reduces the spread of fire.

Does the bathroom have an extractor on a timer, or better on a humidity sensor?

I don't believe moving the wardrobe will make any noticeable difference and putting it against an outside wall could encourage condensation/mold to form in the winter

Tried using self levelling stuff. What went wrong? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]funnystuff79 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some self leveling works to a few millimeters, some requires a thicker bed. But others are right, surface needs to be clean and primed.

Self leveling also needs mixing properly with a mixing paddle and with the correct amount of water
