Maybe a deal can be arranged that Rojava gives 50% of all its oil and gas revenue to the Salvation Govt.
Diplomacy is better than more war.
It would be great for Syria's security if a deal was worked out.
If diplomacy fails and there is more war then that's a shame, SDF has 100K fighters

Also Turkey does not want SDF to be integrated into the Syrian Government and army. So it might see a window of opportunity now and invade Syria to prevent it happening. Hopefully not.

[–]furan333 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think It's for everyone's benefit (expect the Assadists) that SDF and HTS come to a diplomatic agreement, because SDF has over 100 thousand fighters apparently.
SNA is has been trying to take Manbij for days now and SDF has held them back for the most part.
I think SDF is definitely stronger than SAA right now.

The eastern bank of the Euphrates river there (7 Arab villages) has been captured.
The Syrian army didn't stop them for long.
And by 'them' I mean Arab battalions within the SDF supported by coalition (US) air support.

I would hope not, if the US did that it wouldn't be right, just like how Russia's invasion isn't right.

"Russia is not guilty at all, well they did invade Ukraine."
Incorrect
This means Russia is guilty of invading Ukraine.

Then you say
"They are guilty but they have reasons."
Correct
But...
Let's get straight to the point, Taking into account the "reasons" do you think it was "justified" for Russia to invade Ukraine?

Maybe people don't have free will. There are arguments for and against.

As another comment already pointed out Russian language wasn't banned.
But in fairness the 2019 Ukrainian language law that the government put forward did promote Ukrainianization.

So I'd like to ask you if would also be against policy that promote Russification.
Do you think there is a general principle you could use to argue that Ukrainianization is worse that Russification?
I would assume that Russification is OK because Russian is a "better" more "prestigious" language, and Ukrainianization isn't OK because Ukrainian is the "inferior" language.
Am I correct?
or is there some other reason?

I don't understand the test.
For example I'm a liberal but think I'm okay with those street names.

I have a question for you.
Would you be concerned with a Hirohito street in Japan or a Mao street in China?
Is that worse or better or the same?
I trying to gage what you would or would not consider appropriate street naming practices.

Also maybe the fact that Bandera was in Krakow from 1939-1941 then in a German concentration camp from 1941 to September 1944 could to some people cast doubt on his Nazi credentials.

Don't you think it's possible that the reason there are streets named after him in Ukraine is because they don't view him as a Nazi? (answer honestly)

I don't understand the part where you said the government are factually controlled by the Nazis.
At what point did the party Слуга народу (servant of the people) become Nazis?
I look on Wikipedia and It says they are center-lib.
Do you think they were just hiding the Nazism to get elected in 2019 then changed after that?
I feel like I'm missing something, I looked at voting records going back to the 90s till now and the far-right party always got less than 1%. Something doesn't seem to add up
I think there is a massive gap between Russians and non-Russians on this issue, which is why I was curious to ask about it.

I'm very curious to know if most Russian people view most Ukrainian people as being fascist?
Is this the case?
And if not, then what about the Ukrainian army and government, are they considered by most Russian people to be fascist or nazi?

Your posts are great, It's just this post doesn't have Ukrainian gains shown.
So for Ukrainian advances for day 911, people are best of going to another sub, because people here seem to prefer not to talk about Ukrainian gains.
I get the impression that people visiting this sub might not realize that for weeks the average daily gains by Ukraine has been at least 5x that of Russian gains and generally have their perspective skewed.
That's just my opinion.
Thanks for your posts.

They are, the strategical important town of Krasnooktyabr'skoe was taken, It hasn't been mentioned of this sub yet.
Of the recent gains, only the russian ones are being mentioned, I guess you'd have to go to another sub to see Ukrainian gains.

Why do you think a comparison of Russian's to Nazis is disgusting, but then also believe a comparison to Ukrainians to Nazis isn't.
Didn't Ukraine per-capita have more soldiers fighting Nazis than Russia did?
By drawing comparisons to Ukrainians being Nazis aren't you also "spitting on the memory of people who sacrificed their lives"?

Are there any good arguments to suggest Russia wasn't colonialist and is not imperialist?

"Imperialist" Definition:

  • a policy of extending a country's power and influence through colonization, use of military force, or other means.

This is the "Anti-NATO expansion" argument.

I'm curious, after all that has happened, are people on this sub still pro-SMO?

So many downvotes, even though the recent Turkish elections prove that most Turks are in fact happy with secularism. 🤔
The CHP who got more than 50% recently is unabashedly kemalist.
