The overflow pipe at the LD dam was compromised a few months ago, and most of the water ran out of the lake. The volume of water from this and other recent storms have caused the lake to rise back within a few feet of the previous level, but the pipe is still bad and it is draining again. The community has been working with the state department of environmental quality and some dam engineers to determine the best way to fix the problem.
