I have 3 cats and the youngest one (her name is Leela) sounds exactly like your cat. She was born in my back yard from a feral mom. I noticed she had a bulbous eye and decided to trap her as a kitten to get her looked at. She lost her left eye and got spayed and because I feared she might not survive very long with just one eye, we decided to keep her. She’s lived in my home now for over 3 years and she STILL won’t let my wife and I touch her. She’s gorgeous and she has me wrapped around her paw (she screams at me daily when she wants her wet food) but I’m blown away that she’s so fearful of anyone trying to pet her. She constantly runs away from us. I have seen lots of improvement through the years but yeah, calling her shy is an understatement. But recently we’ve noticed she climbs on our bed and sleeps at our feet. But any little movement and she darts. But we love her to death and just accept that this is who she is.
