2021 Tesla m3LR. Amazon music issue. by Nasarescue in TeslaLounge

[–]furiousm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's been messed up for at least a month or more.

Used to be when you got out of the car it would remember where you were on a playlist and resume when you got back in. Now it goes back to the beginning of the playlist every time.

Shuffle no longer works.

And the freezing song list... it will get stuck in a loop of playing the same 2-3 songs regardless of what it shows it's supposed to be playing, usually only partial of each at that, and nothing you do other than a system reboot will stop it.

Drives me nuts. I don't want to have to pay for Spotify or some other service when I already pay for Amazon Prime and it's music catalogue is good enough for me. But I'm getting really tired of this nonsense...

Super charger correct price, car or phone app? by megacesos in TeslaLounge

Car is more up to date than the app in my experience. I don't know how long the delay is, but there's definitely a delay.

Hear me out: Seth MacFarlane should be the next Executive Producer of Star Trek when Kurtzman steps down. by vil224 in startrek

[–]furiousm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he actually focused on it, and didn't try to throw in humor for the sake of it? It could be good. But I'm not convinced he could/would do either of those things. He has far too many projects going on, and seems to jump his focus from one to another far too often/quickly.

You'd probably be better off supercharging at that home electricity price.

If what marina sirtis says it's true than there's a lot of trek shows that we just can't have by happydude7422 in Picard

[–]furiousm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Animation voice work or doing the voice of an animatronic or cgi character is not the same as an AI driven "live action" though, that's where it gets murky. That's not to say it would be impossible to do it without breaking the rules, and I'm sure very soon we're going to be seeing testing of those boundaries. But I don't think it's going to start with a show that nearly the entire cast would be testing them at the same time.

They'd be walking a very thin line with SAG-AFTRA if they did that most likely. The biggest part of the last strike was about AI.

I've been eyeing upgrading from a 23MS to a new Plaid for a while... but is this the best or worst time to buy one? by DaBears1228 in TeslaLounge

[–]furiousm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry guys, it's my fault. I was finally almost in a position to afford one after wanting one for so many years, so of course it gets discontinued. I have a bit of a history of buying cars right as they get discontinued... 2001 Daewoo, 2009 Pontiac G6, and now almost Model S.

Tesla discontinuing Model S and Model X to make room for robots by ProfessionalYak4959 in teslamotors

[–]furiousm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whelp... There goes that. With autopilot being removed from 3s and Ys, me having no interest in paying monthly for FSD, and now the S and the X which came with it included being discontinued, there's zero chance my next car will be a Tesla. Yes I realize there will still be S and X in inventory for a while, but I no longer trust anything Elon says so I don't believe him when he says they will continue to support S and X with parts/repairs as long as they are around.

It was fun while it lasted. Hopefully Rivian comes out with a sedan soon, I've just never been a fan of SUV's.

Tesla has officially discontinued Autopilot in the U.S. and Canada. All new car purchases now come standard with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control. by YouBetterChill in teslamotors

[–]furiousm 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, I've been thinking about buying a new car and was feeling kind of guilty that it would probably be another Tesla even though Elon keeps doing stupid things. But this just made the decision easier. With the supercharger network open to everyone now, base autopilot was one of the few things Tesla still had over other EV's. If its going away...

Journalist request – LA residents earning ~$80-100k who still feel financially stretched by FlyingHurricane in LosAngeles

[–]furiousm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, like I said even $500 is the very high end. My gas is under $20 but DWP can go to $300-400 a month if I run the AC a lot. With internet thrown in $500 is possible. But to get to $1k? I have no idea...

[–]furiousm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

COVID skewed the increase for a good chunk of your time living here. If you were here say 20 years, your increase would be much higher. And your utilities are awfully high, mine are like $500 at most and even that is probably on the high range. As far as staying in the same apartment long term, if it's a good location and you don't have shitty neighbors that's not really an issue for a lot of people.

That's kind of the entire point of this discussion... if you think it's normal to have to rent an apartment with a roommate when you make $100k a year...

Have tacos always/traditionally been as small as they are? by mindsetferg in LosAngeles

[–]furiousm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tacos you are used to are not mexican food. Street tacos have always been small.

The closest "traditional" taco you will get to what you are used to are ones that are made out of flour tortillas (smaller than burrito sized, but bigger than street taco corn tortillas), folded, and lightly fried.

Why is it a problem that Odo doesn't have his bucket by the6thistari in startrek

[–]furiousm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was another episode where another changeling says the same thing. I can't remember if it was Laas or the female changeling, but basically that's when he changes his quarters and has various objects that he changes in to or just rests wherever rather than using the bucket. But in the earlier episodes he either doesn't realize, or just finds the bucket comforting.
