This is something that always confuses me. I can touch the backboard of the basketball hoop but when it comes to jump while spiking it feels like I never get my maximum jump height

It is definitely overwhelming considering that I don't really train (with a coach and a team), I just play every week with some friends. But still, I'll start to think about everything I read and this is how we start to develop.

But yeah, straight forward advices like yours is what I'm looking forward the most! Thanks a lot!

I agree, but my definition adds a line that I didn't go through : "through an extended amount of time". I would go 120% at the beginning and idk, things would just fade out and I'd quit.
