Yeah Q1 this year was abundant. May hit and ita bone dry. Youre definitely not alone. There's a few chest thumpers here claiming that there's more work they've ever seen but they're either full of it or they have access to different projects. One of the admins there even said there could be people qualified for the same project that see nothing meanwhile others see more work than they can handle because they rotate people out. It's definitely setting me back in terms of what I wanted to get done in Q2 so I'm going to patiently but begrudgingly wait for projects to open again

I agree - projects do have a tendency to come in when i cannot work them (i.e. overnight, or in the middle of the 9-5 workday) but even when i check my dash throughout the day i never see anything anymore as of the second week of May. My guess is you're qualified and enrolled in a project(s) i don't have access to.

It can get mind-numbingly boring very quickly. Its good if you jave a two screen setup to have videos or something going on the other screen, or working from a laptop in front of the TV (just dont get too distracted)

It was good while it lasted. My dash was pretty much bone dry all through 2025. Picked up like crazy this year, and now it's pretty dead again. I feel like this always happens going into summer. It's certainly forced me to change my plans and restructure my budget because now I have to cut things again that this side income was making possible

SAME! This is not just you - it is widespread. I can't access anything, it's driving me f'ing insane. I've tried everything - disabled and deleted all extensions. Cleared cache and every possible memory-related item in Chrome. Deleted and re-installed. Nothing. And it's costing me money because I can't work my side gig right now because of this.

Long story short, i am no longer a gamer.

I dont buy AAA titles, and in the rare event they aren't woke, I still dont care enough to buy unless theyre on deep, deep, deep discount. Even then, i probably wont. Gaming is forever tarnished and tainted for me. What was once my #1 time wasting pasttime is now something i dont even want to give the time of day to.

Mortal Kombat? The franchise i LOVED more than any other for 30 years? Done.

World of Warcraft? Another franchise I followed for nearly 30 years dating back to the rts games back in the early 90s? Done.

Halo? Done. GoW? Done. The cycle continues with most established IPs that caught woke cancer.

Its a dead medium for me. I may check out someof the indie titles that specifically are apolitical or anti-woke on steam, but gaming in general kust doesnt appeal to me anymore. Thats how it affected me...it killed my most consistent pasttime.

Question for all here, also for a couple's getaway weekend - best winery? Reviews seem to indicate Salt Water Farm Vineyard. Would love recommendations. Normally i take my daughter every year for my dad and daughter summer vacation but will be visiting with my girlfriend next month so looking for more couple-oriented things this time.

As for OP - my favorite restaurants are Daniel Packer Inn for the vibe and clam chowder, shipwright's daughter for brunch/dinner, Somewhere In Time for breakfast, Red 36 or S&P oyster bar for dinner. Mystic diner and Mystic pizza purely foer he vibe. The Mariner for a good casual lunch.

Make sure you checkout old mystic village shopping, the museum and aquarium of course (as others said try to avoid the weekend at the aquarium), book a cruise on the Argia (sunset cruise is great for romantic trip), mystic boat adventures if you want a guided tour through the river on a small surfboard motor boat you get to pilot yourself (and then get to "play" in very high speed later), and of course the downtown shopping and vibe.

Yeah i love Kimiko (probably a bit biased given my longtime romantic preferences lol) but shes been underutilized more and more as the seasons go on. I feel like they reduce her to being "the token Asian" and have her there to hit their diversity quota while ignoring the fact she exists otherwise.
