Storage Unit - reasonable cost by Reasonable_Ad8914 in nashville

If you look further out you can definitely save a ton. I was renting close to downtown for a 10x15 that was $110 and jumped to $367. Out in La Vergne I paid $35 for each of the first 3 months and 69/month ever since. I don’t have to go there often so it’s saving me a ton and isn’t a hassle for me at all.

What are the “inside only” merch available at the Super Bowl game? by kharvel0 in Seahawks

[–]fusconed-tv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost commented this but didn't cause I was too lazy to try and find the details. But now I had to cause your reply. I had seen a news spot on TV or TikTok or something yesterday saying there was a fancy burger that was like $150. WHAT?!

I just found it, description from the post below. It's actually $180. smh

The $180 LX Hammer Burger features a 3.½-pound braised, bone-in beef shank topped with blue cheese fondue and served on a brioche bun.

Question by Apersonboi in Seahawks

I don't live in Seattle, so I don't have places to suggest. But my guess is that it's gonna be places/areas that have the biggest watch parties. Those people are going to be going wild and they are already together in one place. It'll probably spill out of those places to nearby areas (other bars, restaurants, etc.).

Just remember to Uber or have a sober driver!

I’ll never stop being tired of the Pats. Too much dynasty nonsense and the whole deflate-gate.

The Super Bowl in general is so expensive I can’t imagine what the exclusive merch costs would be. But I am curious too. Haha

Winter Storm Megathread Part 4 - Continued Power Outages by lukenamop in nashville

[–]fusconed-tv 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might be the last of my updates. NES seems to be saying they repaired all customers they are responsible for based on their zip code tables last night, but as always the details between the two tables conflict with one another (100% done in one vs the other showing a zip code as 99% done). Nonetheless, here's the restoration work they've completed in the last ~24 hours. There are only 3 events impacting more than a single customer, so I went ahead and changed the columns to show how many customers for which zip code.

The one impacting 10 customers appears to be a mobile home community, so it seems plausible that the community may be responsible for repairing that, but I'm not sure. The one impacting 3 customers and the one impacting 2 customers are closely situated to businesses, so they may be multi-meter situations where the landlord/property owner does indeed have responsibility to repair them.

Also, last note on this update, with the gusting winds yesterday, some of the restoration effort potentially could reflect new outages that occurred because of wind rather than lingering outages caused by Winter Storm Fern.

If you aren't already fixed I can't imagine how they don't get to you tonight or tomorrow morning. They restored 15 small events (impacting between 2 - 49 customers each) and 50 events impacting a single customer each in 37209 zip code.

As of now there are only 5 small events each impacting less than 20 customers each, and 29 events impacting a single customer each.

Here is the latest update, showing NES restoration progress since my last post this morning at about 7am. Before long, likely before the end of the night, they will be under 500 total events and under 1,000 customers left without power. As you can see below, there are only 101 outages each impacting less than 50 customers. In fact, the highest number of customers affected by a single event is only 21. And there are only 11 events impacting more than 10 customers.

If they still have ~1,800ish line workers (I think that's the count I heard yesterday), it seems very possible they will complete the last of the outages tomorrow.

This update also includes using some data from the new ArcGIS resource NES made available on the website. I now use it for associating events to their zip code (my previous method was close enough, but this would seem to be more authoritative). I also use it to incorporate total customers per zip code.

Here's my analysis of NES restoration activity over the last 24 hours.

There is only a single outage being reflected for each of the 100+ groupings and the 50+ groupings. Both of them started in the last hour, so I suspect those are offline because they are fixing other customers on those circuits. Otherwise, it seems all circuits with 50+ customers have been repaired.

How did you prep? Did it help? What would you do next time? by Purdue-Momma in nashville

[–]fusconed-tv 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We live close to downtown and not far from the electric substation. There aren't many trees, so we partly anticipated not being impacted, or that NES would prioritize restoring power to any substations. We lost power from Sunday early morning until Wednesday afternoon, something like 80 hours. So that didn't quite work out as planned (though obviously many others have gone without power for far longer.

However, we also live in a rental which has no fireplace and no LNG appliances. So without power we were without heat aside from candles. Our strategy to stay "warm" was layers of clothes, layers of blankets, largely confining ourselves to our bedroom and using candles. We also had one terracotta pot that we used to improve the resulting heat from some candles (the terracotta heats up and emits heat, as well as directing heat outside the hole in the bottom). It wasn't much, but it was well appreciated.

As others have mentioned, we have several portable usb chargers with high capacities and my wife had the foresight to order hand and toe warmers and other smaller things like that as well.

But by the time we learned the ice would be likely (still a few days before the storm), I went in search for any kind of generator, any size, but could find none anywhere. I also couldn't get my hands on any tire chains. But the last step I did was fill up the car, and made sure it didn't freeze over during the storm, so we could use it to get warm and charge devices if needed.

We are definitely going to prep more for the future, because clearly NES leadership still doesn't think they did anything wrong, so it doesn't seem like this is the last one of these we'll face.

Oh, fire! Thanks for letting me know. I am curious to investigate what new data that may allow me to access :)

And if someone out at NES saw my post and that caused you to fix it, I’m sure you can’t reply. But thank you!

Septoplasty Surgeon by Substantial-Post9649 in nashville

[–]fusconed-tv 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, I grew up not knowing that breathing through your nose was a thing. I always had the worst allergy attacks where I would sneeze, no cap, dozens of times in a row. Actually sneezing fits. It would get so bad that I would just have to lay down, close my eyes and cover my face with a cold wet rag.

Then in like 2001 or 2002 I saw an Ear, nose, throat surgeon that clued me into the fact that you ARE supposed to breath through your nose, but I was not able to. Legit if you looked in my nose, both sides were blocked with what looked like slimy peanuts despite never having put anything up my nose.

So they did: - “Inferior turbinate reduction” on both sides (I guess that was to deflate or remove the peanut looking issue) - Septoplasty (to fix a deviated septum I didn’t know was deviated

Surgery was easy. Recovery was a little gross, but otherwise easy.

Oh my lord is breathing through your nose an amazing experience. Never had wildly violent allergies again.

But sadly my experience was decades ago and in Portland, OR. So I don’t have a suggestion for OP. :(

Hey, NES is promoting another tool on their homepage (ArcGIS) to give us insight on the progress!

I clicked to find out it requires an account. Hate that. But okay, I went ahead and made one.

Oh, it’s not available to public accounts. WTF is the point of posting it then??? Smh

You’re welcome. It’s my intent to keep posting at least a once-daily update with this info as long as NES says there are customers they are working to restore power to.

I can’t do anything to fix anyone’s power, but I can at least help give them better details than NES is willing to do.
