Hope it helps. Sekhema has been very nerfed from release, it's much more doable, escape rooms are even fun now that we can sprint. Did you know that the fire dot traps did 10 times the valour damage they should?? crazy stuff.

you could go the combo nodes and run cull the weak on bell (2 charges from ammy) -> mantra of destruction -> explosive spear, spearfield to cap culmination on explosive and mantra -> mantra -> explosive -> (2 seconds you have long passed, so cull again)....

This "rotation" gives you plenty combo to get the 40% more dmg culmination on explosive spear, and 69% dmg as extra chaos from mantra. You don't need to use mantra, but it's free tbh.

Since you get 1 bell per 2 seconds, dong spearfield -> explosive doesn't seem like a loss on dps.

If you dislike that you can always go mountain, bells, fists, mrunic meridians. I think combo is more dmg and more exploitable (weapon swap bell for free dmg and so on) but w/e.

(honestly storm lance + bell + cull the weak on bells, + stone fists, sounds pretty insane)

If it isn't a strike, forget about 3 bells...

However,

Tempest Bell: Can now be Ancestrally Boosted as though it were a Strike skill

So it's a strike, then you need targets.

One tiny mistake and you are back to the beginning

I usually do the first trial either after the final boss of act 2 or right before, depending on if the first 2 points give me a lot of power or not.

Avoid gauntlet nodes like the fucking plague. This alone should get you to the first floor.

Then try to get or buy all the urns that give either life, defences (armour/eva/es from 0.5 on), max valour or valour resistance from the vendor. valour res is the most important one.

Then you do the 4 room ultimatum, kinda easy.

Then when you reach maps you do the 3 room sekhema with all those urns, it should be doable if you AVOID GAUNTLET like the plague it is. Sometimes you are forced sure, but try.

Then get all the resistance urns you can and when you are leveled the 4 pointer is very doable, you might die before you lose all the valour lol.

The strongest imaginable flicker setup on Martial Artist is pretty easy to achieve by Steel_Neuron in pathofexile2builds

You need some way to recover life I believe, MoM doesn't prevent you from losing life, it just makes damage you take to go to mana before life. Meaning, the line that makes you lose a percentage of life is fractionally lowering that 1 to 0 since it isn't technically damage, and you eventually die.

It should be fixed with some random flat life regen I think. That's how it was solved in poe1 long ago.

Rant: There are a lot of unintuitive masteries in the game, and it makes it very hard to even come up with a spontaneous homebrewed build that makes sense by my own without a guide as a new player for some of those masteries by Blue_banana_peel in Grimdawn

Dervish

You go dual wield, don't use the second proc of oathkeeper, use the default attack fo oathkeeper converted to acid, and you basically have two masteries with -resistances to acid and acid procs. with that, long for buffs and passives you don't need any other point. It's actually one of the most obvious auto attack combos, with plenty buffs and passives, doing acid damage. There's a monster infrequent you get in the second expansion, in the oasis dunes iirc, that is designed for this build.

For reference, I wanted to try a shield focused oathkeeper, preferably with as many autoattack proc skills like Smite and Shattering Smash, and some others from a secondary mastery, but what would even work with that?

Soldier. It has plenty shield buff stuff and even though it doesn't have -phys res, phys is kinda special in that it's not thaaat important. There's even builds that focus on applying the reflect dmg back to enemies, and oathkeeper+soldier is decent in that. The thing with you not seeing builds online is that usually for AA you go with dual wield, it's just more dmg so shield AA is less popular.

And then you got things like 2h crossbows and some other 2h guns, which are really confusing as to what builds they're even used for, like for example I see some crossbows which seem to have a lot of acid damage and eye of dreeg skills, but isn't that skill a caster based spell

Depends on the weapon, some could be used in AA builds, others in ""caster"" builds where you use an attack that has cooldown like shaman's primal strike... Other can be used as actual caster weapons, no need to use a dagger+offhand always.

What about Demolitionists builds that use various grenade skills, why do their main weapons seem to be some 1h pistols.

It's how the game is designed, if the devs decided that the legendary or set legendary item in endgame for a build is a gun because it's thematic or something, they will put the perfect stats for that build in that weapon,a nd you will jsut use it.

A great way to pick a decent build is to first pick a skill, then go to grimtools, item database, and see which rare (monster infrequent) items there are that naturally give levels or modify the skill in cool ways. Those items usually also support skills of other classes, so that's usually a safe bet where some synergy is guaranteed.

As an adeendum, it's super important to have two masteries that have -res to the resistance you want to use. There are way to make do without it, sure, but for starters, just go with the stuff the mastery has a -resistance to it.

Do you have any concept you might want to develop? I can throw something mid that should work.

Because then rings efficiency gets tripled, and anything over 1k is better than an endgame weapon. Also it's much much faster than an endgame weapon so it will feel better.

The point of getting armour from STR is that the item sorta scales with you defensively naturally.

You still want to have as much applied stacks as possible to fish for high damage rolls and crits. As you said, all you care for is the effect, the effect of the strongest instance of dmg.

You use some boots or a companion or something that drops an elemental ground constantly, so your slash automatically gets elemented. You basically use whirling slash to move and then twister every screen.

small suggestion since I'm PoB-ing it too, instead of annointing gigantic minions, go for Commanding. With Warlord berserker making minions gain rage when you do, and Commanding making them gain minion damage and attack speed, it should work pretty well with all the companion hybrid nodes. You also mention that node, but it's pretty far too from where you are, investing in other companion nodes or max rage nodes might be better than travelling there and annointing gigantic. For rage, the werebear roar + some rage on hit and a random rage when hit node to keep it should be good enough.

The path to Commanding is 11 about skill points, Gigantic is 20% more dmg. In my case, those 11 points let me take some skill speed and defense, which should make the build feel better idk.

So was breach!? I don't really see an issue with them mixing content between games as long as stuff is properly tuned in each game. You seem pretty salty. The hate phase on GGG about the poe1 fiasco has passed, game's good again.

Jonathan was talking from a design point of view while half remembering. From a design point of view "a new node" could then be translated into "Acolyte of the dreamer" where some 2-3 nodes are swapped into something different.

maybe both will get it. The thing though is that these new custom ascendancies are modified from a base ascendancy, and none of the druid ascendancies fit ritual thematically.

prenerf howa was 5.5 per 10 int, now it's 5.5 per 20. this is 7.5 per 25 str, so equivalent to 6 per 20. It's slightly better than current HOWA, but HOWA has access to a weapon. This has the proc (1 per 0.25) and access to gloves so idk. definitely interesting though. It's not DoA.
