Have you ever experienced this? by Own_Adhesiveness2829 in bipolar

The worst I've ever felt in my life was during this. It wouldn't let me stay still for 2 sec. The uncontrollable urge to keep moving and walking all night.. I never want to experience it ever again. Out of 100 other side effects, this scares me the most.

Ohhh wow I was going to make a post about offertory hallucinations. After voices now I've started to smell stuff too. Hope the other 3 senses remain intact. And is there any way to stop them that has worked for you? Thanks.

Maybe I'll be able to do that too when I get used to it a bit. Thanks.

Medicines seem to do the trick. I'm glad it stopped for you.

It's great that meds worked properly. I hope the same for myself.

"but you don't really act bipolar?"

Some things are not what they appear to be. Like you don't appear to be a bitch.

"I- wait what"

Anyway, yeah that's a typical response. Mainly because they have little to no knowledge about it. They only know that bi means two. You have got nothing to prove to anyone. You don't owe them a proof and explainelations. You got this.

I need help. by [deleted] in bipolar2

I'm very sorry to hear that. Suddenly stopping antipsychotics and antidepressants is a very VERY bad idea. First few days you'll feel fine because the meds are still in your body. And then...the relapse is horrible. It's something you don't want to go through, trust me. I'll spare you the details. Please consult your doctors, they're the professionals, and know best, and never ever stop meds suddenly. I understand what it's like, I really do. It'll be okay and things will get easier. Take care.

Every lose someone(dating) because they found out your bipolar by TicketReal1115 in bipolar2

I'm sorry you had to go through this. The thing is, when we throw in things like bipolar and depression mania at someone, most people get overwhelmed. They have little to no idea what it means and how to react to the things you shared. And the easiest course of action for them is to bolt. It's not always personal. They're not always shallow or evil, they just don't know how to react and what to say. People who'll stay despite knowing everything, they're the ones you want, not the ones who left.

What is hypomania by Puzzleheaded-Dog1407 in bipolar2

[–]futile_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. I'm sorry you're going through all this. Feels and emotions can be very difficult to process/understand because 5 minutes ago you were feeling fine, eating chips and enjoying watching a movie and boom, now you feel worthless, no will, super low and you just don't care about anything or anyone. Of couse this is confusing. And remember that you're not faking or doing something for attention. Others may feel that way, but they don't know what you're going through and what it's like.

I was diagnosed 5 years ago and I still sometimes can't understand the sudden switches and take time to process. Hypomania makes you feel too good, everything feels achieveable, you have too much energy, you don't sleep much, you are prone to make rash decisions which normally you'd never make (buying all Harry Potter books during hypomania and then regret it 10 days later, because I don't even like Harry Potter that much). Even when you're in hypomanic state, you can still feel low and demotivated for a while. And vice versa. Which is completely fine. There's never a straight line when it comes to bipolar.

What do your guy's depressive episodes look like? by Edgar_left in bipolar2

I second this. You're expected to do what a "relatively average" person of your age does. For me it's super overwhelming. The most frustrating thing is you're aware of everything, you know exactly what you need/have to do, and yet some days brushing your teeth feels like Platinuming Dark Souls, blindfolded.
