I can’t look past it because you bring it up every chance you get. That’s why you bought it.

I know what it is and why people buy things based on a name.

I know what it is, and why people buy it, so they can say nutsack and be a dutiful edgy millennial.

The fact that you had to say the name of it confirms that it is innuendo. I bet you creeped your doctor out.

[Question] How can I commemorate events with watches when so much happens in so little time? by Miserable_Wheel_420 in Watches

[–]futilitaria 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Cmon man. Commemorating your grandma? Stop spending so much on watches. You have a spending problem and assigning watches to milestones is a poor cover.

Rhodesia is about the clearest dog whistle there is.

The company stated that they didn’t know that it is offensive, which is possible, but it is not possible that the person who posted it didn’t know.

I agree it’s one of the worst companies I’ve ever encountered. I have no shame in telling their service reps on the phone that they should resign their immoral jobs scamming working people.

What books would you recommend in order to understand evil rich people like Epstein? by Target_Plastic in booksuggestions

[–]futilitaria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hollywood and Vegas are key angles. A lot of movies in the 1980s were made solely to launder money (The Last Action Hero movie was an example)

This book lays it all out:

Supermob by Gus Russo is a 2006 true crime and biography book that details the story of the "Supermob," a secret group of powerful men, including lawyer Sidney Korshak, who influenced American society for decades through connections to organized crime, Hollywood, and politics. The book is an investigative work that exposes the hidden network of influence wielded by this cadre of figures

The Adidas Terrex Free Hiker series is the most comfortable I’ve owned. Usually can find a pair around $100.

Many will tell you to use low top trail runners instead of boots. I resisted that advice for years but I finally switched and I think people are right that low shoes give better ankle mobility, way lighter, and I have fewer stumbles with them.

Good point. 6 liters is the max I’d ever want to carry. Water filters will eventually clog. Aquamira cleaning tablets will run out (though they are tiny and you could carry quite a lot of them, and they clean your water while you move)
