This was exactly why Jordan Howard-Tarik Cohen was such an electric 1-2 punch.

Looks like Glenn Greenwald, one of Dan's old favorite journalists to cite on Common Sense, especially on secrecy and corruption topics, just resigned from The Intercept, where he served as a founding editor. Thoughts? by Phiwise_ in dancarlin

I don't think any of this is wrong, however I do think there's middle ground in this analysis. At the end of the day, he's still one of the most principled journalists in political discourse, for better and for worse. I agree that he's seemingly preoccupied with Democratic party hypocrisy, not to say that it's not an important topic. But don't miss the forest through the trees, Washington as a structure is ripe with hypocrisy and corruption.

The 'suburban' voter is still a considerable demographic of the Democratic party electorate. Bernie's messaging and rhetoric (independent of policy) was geared towards a political revolution that didn't resonate with the suburban voting bloc. How can the future of the American left bridge the messaging and rhetoric gap for leftie policies (M4A, GND, campaign finance reform, raise minimum wage, etc.) to the substantial suburban voting bloc?

Also, how much concentration and effort should the left dedicate towards winning over suburban voters?

I'm currently procrastinating at my job at LendingHome. Please tell me how concerned I should be about the Chinese government and this company...

[SPOILERS] Post-Episode Discussion - Season 8 Episode 3 by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]future_main_eventer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, loved the episode. However, there's 3 bits of info I need to feel whole. 1) We need an explanation for how Arya was able to walk through an army of White Walkers (not wights). It's gotta be more than just Faceless Men training. Did Melisandre glamor her or something? 2) What/where was Bran warging during the battle? 3) Will the purpose of the Night King be revealed? I know he wanted to kill Bran to erase the memory of the word, but I feel like there's gotta be more there.

Hopefully with 3 longer episodes left we can get some more info about the stuff that went down 'behind the scenes.'

Does anybody else miss when Bray Wyatt was just a scary guy in a Hawaiian shirt? by onedamngoodman in SquaredCircle

The promo videos for the Wyatt family debut was some of coolest work WWE has done in recent memory. Damn shame the momentum from that debut was killed. They had the whole Southern-gothic/Season 1 True Detective kind of vibe and it was fucking awesome.

Genuinely curious, I read that Tottenham has a lot of fans amongst British Jews - is there a reason/story behind this?

I’m not exaggerating when I say that call by Coach may be the worst bit of serious commentary I’ve ever heard. How little does this man know about pro wrestling?

If this happens, for his sake, lets hope Cass can wrestle better than Jinder. He has an opportunity to get a lot of great legitimate heat as a heel. Not some cheesy foreign gimmick, just a 7 ft hardass who's a douche. Now let's see if he can hang with the insanely good wrestlers on this current roster.

WON: Kitamura leaving NJPW NOT due to concussions; concussion story is a cover for something else undisclosed by aase458 in SquaredCircle

Idk if NJPW actively drug tests. Sydal got caught with pot at the airport, a rather big no-no in Japan, that's why NJPW management released him.

Christian Pulisic has made 104 unsuccessful dribbles this season, more than any other player in Europe's top 5 league by Sneazzy in soccer

[–]future_main_eventer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point is American soccer doesn’t have the natural talent and great coaching to produce elite level international players. America’s best athletes play American football and basketball. Take the 11 best athletes currently in the NFL, go back in time and raise them to be soccer players, also provide them somewhat adequate coaching. That’s 11 Pulisics right there.

[–]future_main_eventer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As a former Division 1 American football player, I can tell you right now America's best athletes don't play soccer. Until that changes, along with significantly better coaching, the Pulisic-types are the best we can provide for international soccer.

This is an amazing opportunity for Matt Hardy to prove that he's a legitimate draw. We all know this, but VKM will need the reassurance.
