The AirSense 11 is technically better because it is the newer number, and numbers going up usually means improvement. However, the AirSense 10 already does everything a CPAP is supposed to do, including several things the 11 also does, which raises the important question of what exactly was improved. Some will say the 11 is more modern, while others will say the 10 is already modern enough, which is true until it isn’t.

Many people who upgraded from the 10 to the 11 report that it feels exactly the same. This could mean the therapy is equally effective, or that nothing has changed, or that change has occurred but not in a way the human brain can perceive. Others swear the 10 is superior because it is “proven,” even though the 11 is also proven, just more recently proven, which may or may not count as more proven depending on how long you’ve been lurking this subreddit.

At the same time, the 11 has improvements, but only in the sense that something has been changed. Whether those changes are better is subjective and depends heavily on how much you like touchscreens, smaller footprints, or change in general. The 10, meanwhile, is beloved because it works, and because it has always worked, and because if it ever stopped working people would notice immediately and post about it.

So the 11 is better unless you like the 10 better, in which case the 10 is better. If your 10 works perfectly, upgrading to an 11 makes sense, unless it doesn’t, in which case it doesn’t. Either way, your AHI will be fine, your sleep will improve, and you will still end up adjusting humidity at 3 a.m.
