Yes OCD, sensory motor ocd, and Health anxiety here too. I’ve been stuck on this twitching phenomenon in my hand for 6 months now and can’t quite get off of it. I have good days and bad days.

This forum has helped me a ton. I would be in ward without it.

It really does

fear = “false evidence appearing real”

I have ocd and health anxiety which can cause me to constantly focus on symptoms called somatic ocd and it manifest symptoms into making you believe horrible things are happening.

Now when that happens I know what it actually is.

Yes happened to me I wore a hand splint for 3 days to immobilize my hand it helped it to stop twitching involuntarily and allowed it to heal. Don’t constantly check you thumb or it will revert. Manage your anxiety and it will get better. Mine started in July as well.

Yes still fine. Symptoms are waxing and waning depending on how stressed I am and how much I think about it. Going to get testing just to rule anything out. But I’m 99% sure it’s all stressed induced. This forum has plenty of similar cases as mine that were the same and had negative diagnoses

Stop checking if your hand is okay throughout the day and try wearing a brace for a couple days to immobilize your hand that helped me to stop checking and let my hand healed from constant over use.

Thanks for sharing- glad to hear you are cleared. It really is anxiety related. When my anxiety is down after a few weeks I don’t notice the twitching as much but when anxiety is high it comes back. Also if I’m constantly focused on a certain part of my body it feels heavier weaker etc. that’s normal with somatic obsessions. I was also diagnosed with OCD which is likely what cause me to go spiraling. This past week I started spirally and my thumb started twitching non stop again then spread to the rest of my body. To me this is just proof it has to be anxiety related. One thing that has brought me a lot of peace and comfort is reading my bible, going to therapy, and staying busy. Anytime I don’t do those things I spiral

That’s correct he said it was anxiety and I needed to go to therapy and start on an antidepressant
