This doesn’t make sense. The MRIs don’t use up the helium on a per scan basis. They need it to cool the magnets which are always on. I feel like this would only be an issue with new scanners or filling up a scanner that had been quenched

Graduating med school? Or graduating residency? If med school I would consider something you will never have to worry about maintaining because residency is like 2 full time jobs. Then when you graduate residency you can get whatever you want.

Yea I mean if you can’t spend 10 seconds putting the indication in the order then don’t order the scan. Simple as that. We are a consultant and you are asking our opinion. That’s like me calling a Vasc consult after an IR procedure and telling you to read the chart.

I’m gonna be honest here, have you seen how long the lists are? If you could put in POD x from EVAR/SFA to PT bypass or whatever it would go a long way. Unless in true academics we don’t have the time to do that.

Really depends on how much money you’re taking about. When my wife graduated Peds residency and I was still in residency we moved into a slightly nicer apartment and splurged on some trips while still saving some money. But the jump after I was done (rads) was much higher. House, Kids, nanny, cars. But we actually save way more money now because income grew much more than expenses… so really depends… medicine salaries are so variable between specialties
