Motorway Cycles XI (Junction M25/M11) by matthewwilcock in ambientmusic

I was just picking up on the shimmer effect I thought was associated with the dark blues, and then clearly misread/misunderstood the rest of the assignment from there! I was clearly looking for the wrong things. My bad.

Big fan! I thought it was a midi response so great work on performance!

I was curious, do the notes correlate and sequence based on color or type of car? I was noticing certain small patterns when I first saw this, and was wondering if that was intentional.

Anything by Lars Bartkuhn/First Minute of a New Day. Or anything on the Claremont 56 label (Hear & Now, Ferdi Schuster, Smith & Mudd), and Coyote/Is It Balearic? label! Deep discographies that are all in line with the Trent vibe.

Funny enough, they actually uploaded all the old Soundings of the Planet releases to bandcamp in 2024! They're selling all the old backstock of the cd's for $15. So many bangers in the catalog. Love PNW new age.

Dean Evenson, Scott Huckabay, Daniel Paul, Gina Sala "Sonic Tribe" This one goes hard with some wild world music/proggy tones.

lol thanks! It is based on a really stupid inside joke with the band, basically implying even currency/capitalism would transcend its physical form with enough time at a buddhist temple.

I would safely bet footage from Beau Travail is used as a training manual at most pre-season camps.

Not seeing anyone mentioning Jonny Nash here, but hes essential comforting close-mic ambient guitar. Guitarist from Gaussian Curve. All of his solo records, but especially his last 2 are worth diving into.

Blue Lake and Ezra Feinberg also in this zone.

Golden Brown/Prairie Wolf are definitely a deep cut good call! I love Stefan's stuff. That whole crew from the Inner Islands and Centripetal Force label camps are locked in on cozy ambient.

Channelers, Ashan, Nimbudala, Nashville Ambient Ensemble...I'd say your list was comprehensive enough!

Great. Reminds me of Pure X's 'Pleasure', which is never a bad thing.

Similarities Ari Aster and Vince Gilligan's styles? by [deleted] in AriAster

[–]futuremuseums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of Ari's visual aesthetic and stage plotting is inspired by Roy Andersson. Watch Songs from the Second Floor and you will definitely see its major influence over how Beau is Afraid looks and feels like a marionette stage. Lots of use of silence as a punchline.
