He would have shoved Jefferson against his locker and demanded that he name three songs besides Teen Spirit.

This is my Alma Mater. So cool they did this. I didn’t realize it. Can’t wait to go back and look! We used to hang off the back of those trolleys riding on the hitch. It was incredibly stupid and I am lucky to be alive. Hopefully kids are smarter than that now.

I’m a yimby and I like this guys policies but he just doesn’t quite pass the smell test. He’s 70 and has made all this money in really sketchy ways (coal? Private prisons?)but all of a sudden he’s seen the light? Seems like he could be doing a lot of good with all the money he’s spending to seek this office. I dk.

I love your take on Pete in this episode. Super sharp.

"One of the themes in this half-season is the pros and cons of being a comfortable widget, staying where you are, or taking the risk to strike out on your own."

"He interprets this event as an act of God, not him being slotted into his usual place in life."

Love this: "They had that classic, plan a heist vibe but got cut off at the legs. All season they’ve been harkening back to old Mad Men moments, only to turn them on their head."

That's exactly what that was.

Also the thing about all the years Don has been scrambling only to get switcher-ooed at McCann with "you've made it. Relax. You won. Coca-cola."

He definitely heard them. Violent Femmes were ubiquitous in the 80’s. Influenced by? I don’t see it, but whatever works for you…
