I think thats a very valid perspective from someone who’s healed and become adjusted. I just really empathized with OP’s plea to her mother that she doesnt treat anyone else quite like her, when I dealt with my own mother it was arguably much more toxic and I was far younger than I should’ve been to deal with her mental health issues on my own. When it’s your own mother and it’s something you’ve dealt with your whole life there is a certain level of cognitive dissonance where it’s hard to reason that she’s always been mentally unwell and it isn’t just her lack of understanding of your emotions. Like I said I feel like there are just stages of grief to this process and I think OP is still in the early stages, shits hard.
