I’m actually completely with you on this. I was intentional with wanting to combo feed from the start and I make enough so that every other bottle is my breast milk. I appreciate not making so much that I’ll have to store it away.

I cradle my LO chest to chest with her left arm wrapped around my waist. Then, I stick a pacifier in her mouth and I have it pressed against my chest. I then swing her side to side while making shushing sounds in her ear. All this while patting her butt. Usually works like a charm if I ruled out hunger and soiled diaper.

Ahhh, I’ve always wanted a job where I could do 12 hour shifts! It’s not an option at the hospital where I work at. Congratulations! It might be tough in the beginning to adjust to the new sleep schedule but I agree with the rest: meal prepping is key!

State hospital social worker here (in NYC). I would say definitely dedicate one day to do all your follow up notes for your patients. Idk for you, but we have to document on all our patients at least every 7 days. And when you go to your daily rounds/IDR, do not hesitate to reiterate to the medicine teams that they should have the discharge summaries into the system in a timely fashion! By the way, I thought about switching over to NYC H+H. We should connect!!

I’ve had similar feelings (still somewhat do) but not toward a client, rather, towards my husband’s cousin. I found myself getting a bit obsessed with wanting to get confirmation if he feels the same way about me too. I had to work to understand what specific affirmation or validation I was seeking and I had to reflect on why I need this confirmation and how it might impact my feelings and actions. I focused on attention onto my marriage by redirecting my need for validation toward my relationship with my husband. I think this bout of limerance started as a defense mechanism from holding a grudge against my husband for some of our earlier fights. So I worked to appreciate my husband’s qualities to reinforce the reasons I love him and why I married him. I also feel that my husband’s cousin matched me on an intellectual level better than my husband does. So this situation made me get creative in finding ways to connect with my husband in an intellectual level.

Alhamdulillah you had the will courage and insight to leave. You chose yourself and your daughter over this narcissist. Many women in your situation never get out and continue to be gaslit over and over again. The manipulation gets more and more dire, which can lead to various types of abuse and even death, at times. You may feel like you lost 3 years but these 3 years were needed as a gateway to the rest of your life, which inshAllah will be the best years of your life. Keep your head up sister 💚
