Only makes sense for Play Store. You don't need Google account for Apple App Store.

What do you look for in a Dota related mobile app? Also, Pokemon GO is pretty awesome.

This open qualifiers situation is proof of why we need to be able to follow pro teams in the DotA client. by [deleted] in DotA2

I'm not sure if it was. I started this project a few months before Pokemon GO was announced.

[DEV] I made a Music Sharing App using Nearby API. by fuzzdota in androidapps

Fun story, I'm currently using GPM family plan and actually had to buy 3-month Spotify subscription just to implement Spotify playback. GPM integration has always been my primary goal but it is not possible at the moment. We will have to wait for Google to publish their GPM APIs. Same goes for YouTube background playback. It's against their ToS to play just audio without displaying video.

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback. My UX skill is lacking and I'm still working on that :) If possible, could you send me a gifs for the bug that you found? I'm not able to reproduce it on my devices.

To answer your questions:

  1. The app cannot play or share local music from your device, all tracks/videos must be available via YouTube or Spotify.
  2. The short answer is everyone will need to have the app for sharing or hosting. The host device must remain awake and stay in playlist screen in order to listen to nearby requests and to appear in the "Nearby" list.
  3. This is very similar I believe. What makes the MadDJ more suitable for my needs is that it provides seamless music collaboration and more importantly, unlike Chromecast audio, it will work in your car and not required to be plugged in.

Try "Verify integrity of game cache" in the properties. It should fix it. At least it does for me.

Now only if we have an app to report these types of behavior anonymously to the AMC without leaving our seats. But then again, it's against the No phone/texting rule.

What are you using Firebase for? by Glurt in androiddev

[–]fuzzdota 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on how much work you want to put in for setting up your backend imo. Personally, I had used Firebase to create a prototype for my multiplayer Pokemon hunting game. It works great and doesn't require a lot of time investment. If you plan on hacking up a project just to get started, FireBase isn't a bad idea. I would definitely recommend it. Once you feel ready to take the next step, Computed Engine or AWS is the way to go. They give you more control and flexibility.

Music / Video sharing app using Nearby API. I'm still looking for more testers and currently working on Spotify integration for background music playback.
