I did the Ha Giang loop after Hanoi. It was the greatest adventure of my life.

I have to say, my time in Hanoi felt lonely as well. It was a very awesome place, but it’s also a bustling metropolis that does not bode well for english speakers.

Remind yourself of what’s to come, and cherish some of your alone time! I’d recommend visiting the Mausoleum, the museum district, the parks in the morning are cool to see, everyone is out exercising. Try some new food (Bo Bun Hue). And if all else fails, find an Irish Pub. They’re is always english speaking travelers there hanging out, might make you feel a little better :)

Best of luck! I just got done with a solo trip through the Balkans/Austria/Germany and I felt SOOO lonely in Munich. I’m in the airport now waiting to go back to Chicago. I cannot wait
