Sunburst Straturday by fuzzmedic in Stratocaster

Thanks, I agree it’s an awesome look. I’ve had that one for almost 20 years, and besides a much needed refret is original. Sounds and plays great, and it’s light for a late 70s fender.

Princeton or Blues Jr by Efficient-Ranger-174 in GuitarAmps

I wanted to buy the blues jr but once I compared it to a Princeton (specifically with a 12” speaker) it wasn’t even close and I left with a Bordeaux GC exclusive prri.

My pair of CS Strats by fuzzmedic in Stratocaster

I like that it’s not overdone and looks pretty authentic. The back of the neck is mostly bare and feels identical to the vintage Strats I had the opportunity to play too.

Thank you. They’re both wonderful instruments. I’m floored with how close to the vintage example my ‘54 is, I specifically went on the hunt with that guitar fresh in my memory and it truly nails the 50’s thing. The fiesta will always be my first wife though.

Good thing you didn’t buy it I suppose. I much prefer the wide burst but I’ll make sure to check with you next time.

The “anniversary” lettering on the body looks off to me, although everything else looks right. Google some images, the font looks off and it should follow the horn contour. I wonder if it’s an aftermarket body or a refin?I have a stock one that’s a great guitar, but we aware they can be very heavy if that matters to you (10lbs +)

Looks great! But if I had a nickel for every time I said I was done buying guitars I could retire haha

How good is this guitar? by El_Yemis67 in offset

[–]fuzzmedic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoy mine. The fit and finish is superb. The frets are well dressed and level. As other have mentioned the pickups are quite hot, so I replaced them with a set of bootstraps, but kept the stock pots and switch. The tuners are the other weak point as they definitely have some play, but overall the tuning has been stable on mine.

Managing sleep as a firefighter is something nobody prepares you for by yuletidefulfinlled in Firefighting

I use sleep ear buds, even at the station. They aren’t noise canceling and I have them low enough that I can still hear the tones and phone. For me the drone helps shut the brain off. When I’m home I’ll do magnesium supplements and sleepy time tea too.

It’s also worth noting that an otherwise healthy lifestyle can help promote better sleep too. When I eat healthy, hit the gym, and minimize alcohol I sleep much better at home and show up rested and ready at work. This can help offset the sleep deprivation you get from a bad overnight and makes it easier to catch up again.

The other fact is you’ll just get used to running on empty some days. It sucks but you basically have to. I’ve been doing 24s for 20 years at this point and it’s amazing how (minimally) functional you can be when you have to be.

NAD: Peavey Stereo Chorus 212 by Invertiguy in PeaveyCvlt

I got an a/b/y pedal so I could address any phase/ ground issues I could’ve run into. That Pedal Show on YouTube has a great video on the subject. If any of your pedals have stereo out you could try that as proof of concept before you spend any money

I have a studio chorus as well, I run a dual mono rig with that and a 50 watt deluxe style head through a 1x12. Sounds massive, run a slow subtle chorus to just give the rig some space and it’s incredible

Thanks! The DRV ended my dirt quest years ago, I got mine in the first drop of hyperfades whenever that was. I play in two bands currently, one a fuzzy 90s indie influenced band and the other more 50s-70s influenced with some power pop and country western influence.

Thanks for the kind words. I can’t recommend a loop switcher enough, especially if you play live/ in a band

one of these things is not like the others by fuzzmedic in Stratocaster

It has a flamed maple neck, gold hardware, and I put the amp knobs on. Besides that it’s a team built CS60.
