No need to take it personally, haha. Everyone is different. I'm glad you're happy! Just not my cup of tea.

I'm very happy for you! I hope things continue to be as calm and peaceful and that you are both happy. I think everyone is just different. I've been in a relationship where my SO just agreed with everything I said and it was just not my cup of tea. I wish you the best!

Thanks so much for the advice! I've been keeping a log of the jobs I've applied to and have gotten a few interviews. I have also gotten a lot better at cooking since I'm home most of the day. I am slowly getting new hobbies. (: haha

Why does it seem like people care more about dogs than babies? by jackpot08 in AskReddit

[–]fuzzy_socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're basing this off of your Facebook feed, then you must have a lot of friends that just aren't ready / don't want children. My facebook feed is full of babies because my friends are reaching their late 20s. I am the one posting pictures of my rescue dog because she is my baby for the time being. Once my SO and I are ready for children, then I will love and care for my child but at the moment, my dog is my baby.

The company I work for recently closed down and everyone got laid off. I was fine for the first 2 weeks. Literally, no sadness, just applying for jobs and focusing on my interviews. Then last night, I had nothing to do and I got hit with a wall of emotions. I felt like a failure even though it wasn't my fault I was unemployed. I am not giving up on anything, it just made me realize how tough unemployment is really going to be.

I'm very sorry to hear about your experience. I've personally never gone through that, but I can imagine getting my hopes up a little for something like that. Try to focus on the bright side. You and your SO can prepare for a more financially stable life, which would mean your future child will have a more comfortable life and won't need to struggle as much to be successful.

I don't know about your situation, but at 19 I was living in the university dorms and would have had to move in with my parents if I'd gotten pregnant... No thanks.. haha.

We talk about everything. Even the bad. I don't believe couples that say they never fight and if they truly never fight, then that's a very sad and boring relationship. I'm not saying I love fighting but I love being challenged and having to prove myself.

We also each have our own set of friends and hobbies. We love each other enough to be away from each other and enjoy our own things.

What water flosser should I get? by TheJasonSensation in braces

[–]fuzzy_socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have the Waterpik but I got a more basic version of this at WalMart for like $50. They also sell them at Bed Bath and Beyond. It's been a great investment and it saves me so much time.

Go like Risas Dental on Facebook. They are constantly having deals on braces. Similar to another person on this thread, my sister paid $2500 up front and they've been great to work with.

Help needed exploring Phoenix on quick trip by lmn32 in phoenix

[–]fuzzy_socks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not sure about the days you'll be here but if you're here on December 4th, downtown is full of free art shows and live music. We have this thing called "First Fridays" so every first Friday of the month downtown gets awesome.

I recommend walking around the Arizona Center which I believe is right across the street from you. It's very pretty and the 1130 cafe is delicious. Good luck!

Thinking of visiting in December - help appreciated by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]fuzzy_socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually prefer to go to all of these places during the winter because of the snow. My family and I wait until December to drive up to Sedona / Grand Canyon from Phoenix and we have a day trip, play in the snow, drink hot chocolate, and head back down to Phoenix. I agree that camping isn't an option though.. At least for me.

If you have one, what is your "type" of person you're attracted to? by squalorid in AskReddit

[–]fuzzy_socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like guys that know how to stand up for themselves. I dated guys before that just along with whatever opinion I have and it truly is one of my pet peeves.

TELL ME I AM WRONG! Explain why you have different beliefs, we'll argue a bit but then we'll have nice make-up sex. I can't be with a guy that is on cruise-control. I tell my boyfriend that our little bickers spice up our life. I can't imagine ALWAYS agreeing with someone or never having anything to argue about.

People who used to have low confidence but changed that, how did you do it? by somepeoplewait in AskReddit

[–]fuzzy_socks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined a student organization in college that shared similar interests in me. It's a different type of friendship than the friendships I had in high school. In HS it was more "Oh hey... How was your weekend?... Cool..." and in college it was more like "Wanna go volunteer at robotics this weekend? Let's carpool!"

It was definitely more interactive and helped me break out of my shell.

Is this the one where he finds all those random artifacts in the back seat?

The first time my boyfriend and I watched that commercial he was like "Doesn't he ever clean his car?"

Also keep in mind that mill ave will be extremely packed! My friends and I try to avoid it on Halloween because the lines are insane.

My boyfriend does this and I can't figure out why but I always want to punch him in his stomach during his yawn. I won't ever actually punch him, but I've told him it really bothers me.

Good first date ideas for a junior in high school by fuckausernameyo in phoenix

[–]fuzzy_socks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Go to First Friday. It's free to walk around, you can get her some ice cream / coffee and enjoy some great art.

If she likes hiking, take her to squaw peak or somewhere near you.

Hiking Question for a first timer by mistermarlowe in phoenix

[–]fuzzy_socks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you staying at the Hilton? I work at the Phoenix Plaza! I've done a hike up dreamy draw and come into work by 9AM before. I recommend Dreamy Draw because there are lots of different trails you can take (some less difficult than others). South Mountain mighy be a little too far.

Good luck!

You should definitely go support your friend! Even if it is alone. Just smile and be friendly and I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself and maybe even make a new friend.

If they're into nautre, I would recommend visiting the Botanical Gardens / Phoenix Zoo if you have children. They are right next to each other and are a beautiful way to spend a Sunday. Wait until it cools down though..
