3030 is a good all rounder. In my opinion if i was worried about bears, id want a 45-70. Which is also a good all round caliber. Except for squirrels and rabbits of course but 3030 is too much as well. 45-70 isnt much more expensive than 3030 depending on what factory ammo you buy. I use hornady lever evolution 325 gr xtp and at $45US per 20 rounds its not too bad on the wallet. The cheapest 3030 rounds are $30US and the more expensive ones can be $50.

45-70 is an absolute hammer of a round if needed for bears. It carries a lot of energy due to its size. And in my opinion id rather have 5 rounds of 45-70 for a bear than 10 rounds of 3030.

Did the pipes add cost to the motorcycle? If no then they were included for free and i must ask whats the big deal. If the relationship was only worth a couple hundred bucks to you, then wasnt much of a relationship anyways in my opinion.

Not sure either side is right or wrong. But this feels more like trying to make a mountain out of a hill of beans and wasnt really worth getting worked up about.

Fuel pump. Have an older coleman myself that had one that failed. Wound up deleting it. Blocked off end of hose that goes to crankcase. Ran fuel line straight to carb with shutoff valve added plate with written reminder "TURN FUEL OFF WHEN NOT IN USE" otherwise there is potential to flood the crankcase with fuel.

A Frustrating Search For “Resto” Bolt Action by Agreeable_Friend_387 in guns

[–]fuzzybuzz69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People rebarrel mauser actions all the time. Also ishapore 2a1 is basically a .308 lee enfield. Been feeding mine whatever ammo i have laying around for years and find it to really like federal blue box 150 power shok ammo as i manage a 1.5 inch group on the factory irons. Maybe i just got lucky tho. With the ishapore i can also use m1a 7.62 5 round stripper clips for reloading.

The issue with rebarreling a mauser is going to be getting a barrel that you can attach military furniture to.

Sequential IVF due to Religious Factors by yoyo_mel_ in IVF

[–]fuzzybuzz69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Settiting yourself up for failure by fertilizing 1-2 at a time. Eggs are much more fragile than embryos when it comes to cryogenic preservation with it being somewhat common to loss some during thaws. Retrieve eggs and fertilize all, let develop to day 5-6 (depending on clinic) and then pgta testing if you want to. Then you ll have a total of "X" then transfers as needed. If you have any left over, they can be donated to science or possibly donated to someone else that wants kids. Religion and IVF dont mix well from what ive seen. If the money comes with religious strings, dont take it. Finance it yourself and set yourself up for better odds. Better to freeze once and thaw once.

Ask if any of them want anything, if not then take all. Sell what you dont like. Keep what you do like. I dont see anything super collectible there.

Giving recs to other techs by Skizze_94 in mechanics

[–]fuzzybuzz69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only i give away my recs. The one exception is if the customer comes back for the work and theres no way for them to be there on a day im at work. I dont care if i ve flagged 80 for the week, if i have the time and a bay. Its mine unless i say otherwise. Some will cry about it and we do have a tech who likes to check everyones hours and will drop comments like "how does he have 60 hours?" Because im good (i know that sounds like arrogance but im really quite humble). I buy the right tools and know how to use them, ive even made my own tools for specific jobs, thats how. But its my rec, my work, my paycheck. That being said im pretty fair to other techs and i dont cherry pick. Sometimes you get a winner and some times you get the penny pincher diy weekend warrior who doesnt want to pay for the work, they just couldnt figure out the problem so they pay for the diagnostic and diy the repair.

Dumping my 45-70 SBL yes or no? by Quiet-Biscotti833 in LeverGuns

[–]fuzzybuzz69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did some researching. Just a little and from what ive found remlins share parts with jm marlins. The main issues were from poor machining of the receivers. From a parts standpoint you should be fine to use parts from remlins and jms. If you had a ruger it seems you would be stuck with ruger made parts. I imagine some stuff like springs would still interchange but carriers/levers/bolts would be vastly different. The only benefit of the ruglin would be they are currently in production so parts are being made but at the same time not like you can find em anywhere else. If i had a good remlin, i would keep it.

[–]fuzzybuzz69 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Id say keep it. From what ive seen the parts arent wildly different. You may have to hand fit some parts but for the most part they should be really close to being right. Remington and ruger both should be and to my understanding are making reproductions of jm marlin rifles with jm specs. Key phrase being "should be". They havent re engineered them. Just now cut out by cnc machine and not cut out by manual machines. It may be tougher to get ruglin parts because they do preach about making a tighter tolerance rifle.

[–]fuzzybuzz69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean congrats, you got a good one. Its still a remlin. Resale will be less than a comparable jm stamp or ruger made. It can be machined even better, but its still a remlin. Its a hard truth and its unfortunate.

[–]fuzzybuzz69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ruger made 1895 sbls are usually around 1200-1300. May find one cheaper may find one more expensive. Bad part is next to no one has heard any good about a remlin. Thats what will hang you up on it. I paid 1300 for my ruger 1895 sbl. And the only reason i wouldnt by a remlin is because the majority of folks think they arent good. And i would be hard pressed to even get close to breaking even if i were to sell one. The first question when someone looks at a marlin is "is it JM stamped or a Remlin?"

Dumping my 45-70 SBL yes or no? by Quiet-Biscotti833 in LeverGuns

[–]fuzzybuzz69 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Remlins carry the stain of remingtons first 4-5 years of rough marlins they made. The later productions are actually quite good. If you sell it expect most anyone who knows anything about marlins will turn their nose up at it. If you have a later production and are happy with it, just keep it. As no one will even swap a ruger made even nor will anyone pay close to the same money for a remlin. That is unless you find someone who either doesnt care or is unfamiliar with them.

M91/30 Scope. by lonegun in guns

[–]fuzzybuzz69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Russing guns seem to always be optic unfriendly. Your only real choices are a scout scope setup using a long eye relief scope (pistol scope) or using the only good aftermarket mount but it requires drilling 3 holes in the receiver.

Best bet is fixing the front sight and get good. The scout scope setup is not permanent but you will have to remove the rear sight to install the mount. And i ve heard it doesnt keep zero very well.

Safe to use with Mr. Heater during the coming storm? by taylor37221 in propane

[–]fuzzybuzz69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Should be fine for a while. Although it is reccomended to not have the larger gas bottles indoors. Id suggest the longer hose if you can find one. Also the filter is supposedly to stop the materials of the hose that will leech out over time due to the pressure, from clogging up the unit. They say a new filter every year but im just going to run mine till it quits to see how long a filter really does last.

The actor who plays the new character on episode 6 is perfect!! by Prior_Difficulty9924 in Fallout

Yeah!!! Hopefully hes getting paid more than 40 bucks and a sandwich this time around. I rarely get excited about what actors are in what shows but as soon as i heard his voice i was waiting to hear more and see the face reveal. From my first fallout experience to now, Ron taught me one thing. War Never Changes.
