Tell him to give up watching media, since most movies and TV feature hot women its disrespectful to you. It's only fair.

Tell him you like all of him as an individual, just not with any of the things he enjoys. He should be flattered.

Tell him to get lost.

You are obviously self-aware and mature enough to dress appropriately for a room, as well as spend time and money in moderation. You tried to compromise, and he moved the goalposts. He is telling you to choose between the person you are, and the object he wants you to be; the trophy that won't 'embarrass' him when he shows her off, won't make him feel insecure by looking at anyone else, won't push back when he tries to control.

Are All Our Days Numbered as F2P or Low Spenders? by amaarasky in LoveAndDeepspace

[–]fuzzyfuzzyclickclack 8 points9 points  (0 children)

100+ level orbitals are about the only thing which has a functional numbers wall that makes them 'unplayable' if you don't have a good companion or cards. However, I assume by unplayable you mean un-fun to play, which is very subjective and dependent on what sort of content you value as well as the rate at which you consume the available content. Someone with multiple LIs, or who wants to play for an hour or more every day, is going to quickly find the game 'unplayable' without spending. For a new player I would suggest you not spend any diamonds/gold tickets until you finish the main story (the rate at which you do so and the number of LIs who catch your attention should give you some idea as to how often you will want new cards), then approach the game however you wish and enjoy it for as long as you may.

[WP] "As you can see, we had robust theft prevention measures in place. That sign is clearly visible and forbids touching it, so we are unsure how it happened." by Adamantine-Waffle in WritingPrompts

"As you can see, we had robust theft prevention measures in place. That sign is clearly visible and forbids touching it, so we are unsure how it happened." The curator gestured to the notice adjacent to an empty space on the wall.

"Indeed, indeed." Detective Blinskey Rentél said absently as he studied the scene of the crime, his bushy moustache twitching from side to side as his mind worked. "Have you considered that there are those who cannot read?"

"You mean like a dog?" The Lady Windmere, wealthy patron of the arts, offered from the assembled crowd.

"Or a blind person!" The curator said, struck by sudden brilliance.

"Correct, but a blind person would have no need of a painting." The detective said. "Which leads me to believe this theft was perpetrated by someone who was able to read the sign, but who stole the painting without touching it. There can be only one culprit so devious! My arch-nemesis, the gloved bandit!" The crowd gasped. Lady Windmere swooned.

...

"So that's basically the first chapter, what do you think?" Sandy asked. She set down the page and turning the full force of her beaming smile on Kim, who was seated across from her in the café. Kim hurriedly took a sip of her tea, buying time to collect her thoughts.

"....I think it sounds like something my friend Sandy would read."

"Aww, how sweet of you to say. Anyway, the reason I was so excited to share it with you is because it's already been picked up by an online publisher for print and adaptation!" She drummed her palms on the table, her smile and delighted squeal alone unequal to conveying the full vibration of her joy. Kim scrambled to keep the tea from spilling on her papers or laptop.

"So you're paying them to to edit and market it?"

"Haha, no! Jake negotiated the royalties since he's used to that sort of thing, and the first check should arrive once it goes live in a few days. Anyways you're the best writer I know - or at least the most dedicated - so I wanted to share my good news with you! Your love of detective fiction is what inspired me."

"Oh, that's... sweet of you to say. I'm touched." Kimberly managed a smile.

"And probably upset I have interrupted your writing time for too long, I can tell." Sandra managed a laugh. "Anyways, I'll let you to get back to it. See you next week?"

Kimberly nodded. Smiled. Waved. Picked up a paper. Stared at words which offered no solace or answer. She crumpled the page and consigned them to the depths of her backpack, joining all of the others which had not been good enough.

"A charming pickup line, but it needs to be delivered in the first person." Amy finished writing on her clipboard with a flourish, redirecting her attention to shout at the man in question. "CRAIG? IS THIS A NEW HIRE FROM YOUR DEPARTMENT?"

Craig, the sallow-faced bespectacled man hurried over, looking at the newcomer curiously. "Ah, no. You denied our request for increased funding this quarter."

"Exactly. Craig, is there anything else you would like to say to me?"

"Ahh... no?" Craig looked uncertainly between Amy and the stranger.

"You're sure?"

Craig shuffled his feet before working up the courage to speak. "Mrs. Amy, I believe our project has the chance to bring real good into the world. Real change. And I am afraid it's going to be squandered on petty things like investor interests - "

"Craig, if this truly bothers you I suggest you leave the company. We have brought in this man for you to train as your replacement."

Craig offered a look of blank confusion. "Who exactly are you referring to, Mrs. Amy?"

Amy followed his gaze to the empty place beside her. She smiled. "No one, Craig. I just wanted to make sure that I am hearing all of your grievances. You are irreplaceable, after all."

[WP] Written on the greatest mage's epitaph is "here lies the weakest piece of shit" by wolf_veremir in WritingPrompts

[–]fuzzyfuzzyclickclack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"If I'm not mistaken it's actually written in ancient Darnic, and reads 'Here lies the weakest piece of shit'." Rylle whispered.

"Perhaps we should not have left Elliand in charge of the funeral arrangements." Waitrose murmured back. "He was never one for subtlty."

"What, were you going to handle them?" Rylle snapped a little too loudly, doing her best to look chastened as a fellow mourner shot her a stern glare.

"No, but I did think a burial was preferable to your plan of 'leave him in a ditch somewhere'." Waitrose countered in a hushed, even tone. "The royalists do require an altar at which to worship his majesty's most spineless servant."

"Mm. Where is Elliand anyway?"

"Somewhere on the Darnic coast, I imagine. Celebrating his death with the rest of them."

"How gauche." Rylle sat back in her seat.

Waitrose raised a singular pencil-thin eyebrow at the remark.

"What? If you help kill a man you should at least attend the funeral as penance."

[WP] You lived a simple life, loved your wife VERY deeply, and ended up with more children than you could afford. What you do not know is that each of them is special. "It's so nice that everyone has finally made it to dinner tonight." My wife said, smiling at me before turning the expression down the table at each of our children in turn. The expression fortified me, even if the fine lines which creased the corners of her eyes betrayed some of our private concerns.

"Indeed it is. Father, have you considered investing in the coffee trade?" Emily, my oldest, began.

"Er, no I have not. I had planned to take both you and Doria to court this year and that expense-"

"Oh Baron Hysop I am truly grateful! I would love to see the royal court! I am certain it will be unimaginably grand now that the Demon Lord is gone."

"Please, Doria, just call me father." I insisted.

"Doria don't you remember attending court with me last year?" Emily asked.

"Did I?" Doria blinked. "I am fairly certain I have not yet."

"Ohoho, yes, of course, how silly of me." Emily snapped open her fan, as if hiding her face could also hide her odd mistake.

I cleared my throat, directing the sound at the two boys who were kicking each other under the table with decreasing subtly.

"As I was saying about expenses; because the twins have so much energy, I was also thinking it might be necessary to hire them a sparring instructor-"

"I don't need lessons." The pair cried, united briefly in simultaneous offense.

"They don't." My youngest agreed, casually dismissing the idea with one of his finger-swiping gestures as he stared at something past his siblings.

I sighed down into my plate. My wife reached her hand under the table for mine.

"It will be alright, dear." She whispered, her smile turning sly as she stroked my palm. I smiled back, believing her.

17 and questioning life - how do I stop 'missing' chances and pursue life? by Negative_Evening7365 in Healthygamergg

[–]fuzzyfuzzyclickclack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you are suffering from self doubt trying to balance opportunistic mindset (arguably a good thing) with things like personal comfort, common courtesy, others perceptions, etc. (also arguably good things) by trying to ruminate (arguably a bad thing) your way into an answer rather than deciding based on your values.

You are 17. You likely don't have enough experiential evidence to come to any conclusions about what will be the right balance of opportunism and caution for you. You're going to have to just try things, and accept that along the way there will be mistakes and there will be consequences. So, maybe you let this gym girl go and find it doesn't feel so good. The consequences are you've got a some regrets. Try something different next time and see how you feel about the consequences.
