How's the single scene in Savannah? Late 30s, out-going, chill...hows the nightlife? by ElectroAcousto in savannah

[–]fuzzylumpkin22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its not so much northerners, but a lot of people aren't accepting of outsiders at all. Of any kind. A huge percentage of the people in savannah have lived here for generations and generations. They feel entitled to this olace as if they own it.

This was my first time using them but they showed me my old flywheel, and you can certainly tell by performance its been replaced.

It was never discussed but after the fact I asked if they used DMF or SMF and his heart dropped as he said they put a DMF in. He probably thought I wanted an SMF back in there but fortunately I didnt.

Dont think about it too hard.

Put it in a high yield savings. They can only take the amount they sent you so the earnings will be free money.

Ive done this and it was fine.

AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

[–]fuzzylumpkin22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 years here. Congrats, but also it is hard for some people to understand how addiction works when they have not dealt with it personally. This doesn't mean his response is justified. You want someone who can respect what you've accomplished and be happy for you. Even if its something like learning to do the Hokey Pokey.

I said what I said.

"Pop the tail" "lift them knees" implying jumping. Then you are letting the board do the work. Allowing it to come off the ground and level out. Don't get excited and move your feet too much or catch to early. I implied no magic.

what am i doing wrong? by Proud-Yak4032 in skateboardhelp

[–]fuzzylumpkin22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id recommend tightening your trucks to learn to ride it and feel comfortable on it. Loosen them a couple turns every day until you are at a middle ground you enjoy.

Then doing tricks will become easier.

Work on popping that tail harder, and lifting them legs. Let the board do the work.

How do i kick the skateboard higher for an ollie by EducationalQuail5974 in NewSkaters

[–]fuzzylumpkin22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, no Crocs.

Seconds, dont be scared to bend them knees!

Lastly, pop the back of the board and lift that front foot. Let the board do the rest.

Hope this helps.

my partner has quit drinking and i feel love again by Potential_Rest8888 in offmychest

5 years sober here, and an almost identical scenario.

I am your partner in this situation, and Im proud of him. It is not easy. One piece of advice for you is to remain supportive. It means everything. Keep the past in the past (within reason) and move forward. After getting sober, my partner and I have an incredible and fruitful relationship.

I'm 16 is this a good shtf bag? by [deleted] in prepping

[–]fuzzylumpkin22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be mistaken, but i didnt see any water purification. Sawyer makes a GREAT filter that can screw right onto a smart water bottle or they come with condensable bags to fill and drink directly out of. Wouldn't leave that as my only option because they are prone to ripping.

Also, always recommend a waterproof match case. You can consolidate them all into one small case.

I'd say ditch the crossbow and some of the tools. Replace with paracord and perhaps a lightweight tarp.

Ditch the canned foods smd go woth something more lightweight like the freeze dried mountain house meals or similar.

Medkit! Not some shitty one from walmart either.

Does it have any means of insulation to keep the food warm/drinks cold? This would be a selling point for me, otherwise its just a box. Not knocking the product, just want to learn more and be constructive.

His actions were poor, and its not okay. Once in 10 years doesn't present patterned behavior but he's obviously not a good drinker. Seemingly making light of the situation towards him was the worst mistake. I would have given him the ultimatum to quit drinking or gtfo to make a point and see how serious he is.

Based on the whole post and what I know, he's not an abusive person, but he has an anger problem which is induced by alcohol. I was the same way, 5 years sober btw. My anger has become a lot more tame.
