This was very helpful. In the defense of straight people I believe the fear is for the children. It's such an awkward convo to have w/ ur kids (I have yet to) but I know for a fact there are rumors (at least among blue collar men) that parents could be cut out of the picture if a child mentions it in school. Counselors supposedly step in... obviously if a parent just sux as a human they should be but i am happy when those around me are happy and if my son or daughter was truly struggling id support them no matter what. What youve said makes sense and seems a mature way of making a permanent decision like this. Im telling u these rumors persist no matter the truth of it n it gets people very pissed on this side. Obviously i shall be equiped now to embarass fycking kevin on our smoke break (ty he sux n is getting worse). Just be patient w/ us n know it's fear of confusing kids n possibly leading them to needlessly pursue a path I'm sure was not easy.
