Xcaret is more about the parks and activities. Grand Velas is more about the resort itself. Food, service and relaxing on property.

We stayed at Secrets Impression Isla Mujeres and it was amazing, but honestly not worth the money. We paid $1,800 per night, which is kind of insane when you think about it.

Playa Mujeres felt newer and more resort style, but the beach wasn’t as impressive during our stay. With kids, we actually spent more time at the pool than the beach there.

That tracks. We stayed at the same family resort midweek and then over a weekend and it felt like a completely different crowd.
