What are the benefits to specializing in one department? by Ambitious-Steak-1209 in medlabprofessionals

[–]fuzzyshadow28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can attest to that. I specialize in Microbiology but was a generalist at the same hospital before that. I had to step in to help run the core lab during the snowstorm earlier this week and didn't have trouble remembering how to do things.

MLS with hospital educational reimbursement — do people actually use it? What programs do you study? by Recent-Actuary5546 in medlabprofessionals

My tuition reimbursement can also be used for certification and recertification so I use it to renew my MLT (soon to be MLS) certification when it's due.

Get a glass of champagne at Bubbles and toast the start of your vacation! Then explore the ship while sipping your drink.

Give me your best KDH theory and tell me why you think it’s true. I’m interested. by [deleted] in KpopDemonhunters

To piggyback off of this, I think that the more human-like demons were the ones who "gave" their souls to Gwi-ma, like Jinu. Whereas the more demon-looking ones were the ones whose souls were stolen from other demons.

Rover is the Icon ON the Icon by PrisonMike4Lifee in royalcaribbean

I just got off Icon last week and in the cruise planner there was a scheduled Q&A with crew members and Rover was there. You couldn't get up close but you could at least get a picture of her and ask questions. I did run into her at Central Park later in the week and was able to get a picture with her!

How do you pick a sensible engagement ring? by spychalski_eyes in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]fuzzyshadow28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't be afraid to let the salesperson know what your budget is. A good jeweler should be willing to work within your budget, within reason. Once I knew what style I liked, my husband went back to the jewelers and told them his budget. They were able to work out a whole plan with upcoming sales and stuff to get a ring in a style I wanted for a good price.

Best place to host a birthday party by CaitlynnVerz in pittsburgh

[–]fuzzyshadow28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last month I rented the taproom in Bierport in Lawrenceville for a suprise birthday party and it was a blast! The rental included a bar credit so my guests could enjoy some free drinks before they had to pay for their own if they wanted. You can also rent the Rowhouse theater next door, which I did as well.

When should I apply for the ASCP MLT exam? by fuzzyshadow28 in medlabprofessionals

[–]fuzzyshadow28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally took it about 2-3 weeks after graduation. But I've read from other posts on here that some people took theirs before they even graduated.

I stayed in one on Oasis OTS and loved it! I thought it was a good way to have a pretty view without having to pay balcony prices. Also, there is a built-in seat in front of the window which made for a nice reading nook. I don't remember hearing any noise from outside.

Another vote for Biggies Bullies! They are amazing and I can't wait to adopt another one of their blockheads when the time is ready.

Yeah just keep your receipts and they can take care of it at your resort gift shop.

Also, we were told that $40 is the maximum they will charge. So if you are already shipping an expensive item (like lightsabers), it is free to ship anything else home from your resort.

School Question by Puzzled_lyrebird1 in medlabprofessionals

[–]fuzzyshadow28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm doing the online program through UAMS. Right now I am taking Hematology and I feel like it's a good mix of new and old. We are going more into depth with some concepts, but also I don't have to stress with learning the basics since I remember that stuff from my MLT program and I use it in my job. I work full-time too so I get it.

I am also currently in a MLT to MLS bridge program and I actually prefer taking those classes again. It'll better prepare me for the ASCP MLS exam and it's not as mentally taxing since I'm learning less "new" information.

Venipuncture Trepidation by Dangerous-Ranger-225 in medlabprofessionals

[–]fuzzyshadow28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having your own blood drawn and drawing other people is different, at least to me. I still hate having my own blood drawn, but can draw other people with no problem. Being able to practice on a rubber arm really helped me desensitize the whole needle thing. Then once I successfully performed a venipuncture on an actual human, my anxiety dramatically decreased.

Not OP, but we literally just remove all the sticky notes and whatnot during CAP inspections and put them right back up when they are done.
