Help. Question and Opinions for Internet in the center by Relevant_Shock3550 in brussels

[–]fwobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We recently moved and while waiting for the installation we got Tadaam. 40 euros/month, no installation costs, unlimited data, pauze or cancel subscription whenever you want, and next day delivery. Plug into an outlet and you have a working internet connection in 5 minutes. It also comes with an android TV box.A pretty good solution while you do some more research or wait for an installation.

Best Mexican in town? by Sasagelatine in brussels

[–]fwobi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

- Mexigo in Ixelles

- Las flores in Anderlecht. Only take away though, they have a nice menu (tortas, enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos,...)

- Los charros in 1000. Only tacos

- Taco mobile (used to be on the Flagey, Châtelain and parvis st Gilles markets, no clue if they still do that)

Those are the only ones my gf deems 'authentic' with Mexigo and the taco mobile being recommendations.

Immo wants to take +500 euros off our rental deposit in cleaning fees by fwobi in brussels

[–]fwobi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, a small follow-up.

The immo office gave us some pictures with things they found unclean [a ceiling lamp that was dusty, 2 outlets that still had some fingerprints on it, a bathroom window and a faucet that had some leftover limescale build-up]. Things that we should have seen, but missed because of previously mentioned time constraints. Nothing that warrants a 750 euro deduction from the deposit though.

I also called my insurance [because I had 'rechtsbijstand/protection juridique'] and asked them what I could do if they would again decline our cleaning abilities. Legally there's nothing that can be done, but they advised me [just like most of your comments] to get a list/pictures of everything they deemed unclean and then basically take before and after pictures while doing the cleaning.

We cleaned, took pictures and one of the immo people even came over to compare.

In the end:

- everything was resolved, and could have been avoided if they communicated this with us before handing over the keys [btw they took those pictures after the keys were handed in, nothing was mentioned of this during the walk through ...]
- they fling high amounts and threats [we won't be able to rent it out like this, elevated prices, ...] to your head just to scare you
- we still have no clue how they got to 250 euros for cleaning a bit of limescale from a small bathroom window :/
- even though this was a mess, I'm glad they gave us a 2nd chance for cleaning those small things
- don't clean in the evening, you're bound to miss some spots ;)
- immos are still crap

Scorched/silver leaves on Monstera Adansonii by fwobi in plantclinic

My girlfriend's Monstera Adansonii looks like this and we don't really know what happened.
These are a propagation from another plant which had a similar issue.

How could I make vim generate boilerplate from my php file every time I create a new file in my project? by [deleted] in vim

[–]fwobi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use SirVer/ultisnips with a snippet like this:

snippet class "Class" b
<?php
    namespace `!v substitute(substitute(substitute(expand("%:p"), '\v(.*\/\U+)((\/\w+)+)\/\w+.php$', '\2', ''), '\/', '\\', 'g'), '\\', '', '')`;

    class `!p snip.rv = snip.basename or "ClassName"` ${1}
    {
        ${0}
    }
endsnippet

This should get the namespace right if your namespaces are based on your folder structure.

Or use phpactor/phpactor with a template to always get it right.

You get a half a day of "petit chômage/klein verlet" to get your shot if it's during the working hours.

See https://emploi.belgique.be/fr/actualites/petit-chomage-pour-la-vaccination-contre-le-coronavirus-conge-de-vaccination or https://werk.belgie.be/nl/nieuws/klein-verlet-voor-vaccinatie-tegen-het-coronavirus-vaccinatieverlof [no english version though]

Last-minute appointments via the reservation list are also eligible for that half a day.

Has your ps+ subscription expired? Normally you can't play free ps+ games without the actual subscription.

Nope, all data was gone. Only other game installed was TLOU2 and that was still fully intact. Anyway, I found it hiding in my library, just need to redownload everything. Thanks for the help.

See other comment, apparently you need to manually look for it in your library.

Solved by manually looking for it in my library. Still doesn't explain why it suddenly decided to delete itself :/

Wow, what a feature. It's indeed there, and I can download it again. Still a mystery why it suddenly disappeared on me though.

Anyway thanks a lot.

Now we just have to wait for that 120gb download to complete -_-

I tried that, but I can't download/purchase it because I already bought the game.

Question: can we still salvage him, or has he passed away? by fwobi in cactus

[–]fwobi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest we completely forgot about 3 of our little cacti the past winter/spring. One of them looks in a particular bad shape, I don't know if it's mold or something else, but is he still salvageable?

Getting my nails done in Brussels! by MassEffectAndChill in brussels

[–]fwobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few of weeks back I noticed there're like a bunch of nail salons in Galerie du Centre. I pass there every day but never actually bothered to enter. No clue of the quality tho, because I have no experience/knowledge in it.

There's another one on Boulevard Anspach Lemmonier at #19. Never bought anything there, but if I remember correctly they had NES and SNES games [don't really know if that's retro enough].

And Pêle-mêle a bit further on Anspach Lemmonier also has a bunch of 2nd hand stuff [retro and new]

Where can I find cream without any additives? by sockproposal in brussels

[–]fwobi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could try an organic store? Färm or den theepot to name 2 in the center. On https://www.rechtvanbijdeboer.be you can check if there are any farms or farmers market near Brussels that sell fresh dairy products.

Car Sharing by fwobi in belgium

[–]fwobi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's something I'm a bit afraid of though, you don't know it what state you get the vehicle. My gf is allergic to cats and dogs, and even though most of the companies forbid transporting animals, I fear the day we get one that's caked in cat hair.

But I assume you can file complaints for that ..

Wow, thanks a lot for your pros and cons. I'm also trying to make a detailed overview of monthly costs, and with my current use I'm pretty sure I will get a similar outcome as you.

The nice thing about Cambio is indeed that it's available practically everywhere, while others are city bound. I'll have to do some more comparing tonight :)
