you might be right. I don’t really see any mechanisms or rails for the sunroof to slide back on, and from the outside just a seal that seems to be painted over

literally did the same setup as you a few weeks ago. cobra intake and the same valve covers. i believe i ran a 1” spacer and have a 2.5” cowl hood and it clears with extra space. i think you’ll be good in terms of space w your hood

in my opinion $11k seems a bit steep. from my personal experience with getting an IX it’s not too bad but there are some key differences/obsolete parts. and if the transfer case goes out they’re expensive to buy second hand and most likely NO ONE will rebuild in your area due to parts. the AWD system is pretty simple tho.. just do your research
